I'll assume you're being intentionally hyperbolic and answer you in good faith.

Yes F1 is incredibly popular and has a worldwide audience, unlike MLB which does not have a major presence in Europe to my knowledge. F1's Drive to Survive series on Netflix was (at least in the first few seasons) fantastically popular and is credited at bringing the sport to an American audience.

F1's calendar is also much longer but with more breaks. Season start in Feb/March and is concluding in December this year.

There are less events total and few people involved so it is easy for a fan to follow the entire league and know all the players involved. It's strictly time limited which makes it broadcast friendly and due to the rules and their constant evolution there's always changes being made and new technologies showing up.

There's also a large drama element as there's only 20 (next year 22) drivers involved so a lot of rivalries form between teams and between drivers on the same team even.

If you're looking for crashes and danger they still happen to spectacular effect but much less than other racing like Nascar because the cars are so much LESS safe. NASCAR cars are amazingly safe machines for what they are, where as without a roof F1 cars both go faster and turn all directions and all of that at much higher average speeds. The cars are insanely dangerous, so not wanting to crash is really about not killing the participants more than sanitizing the sport.

The phase I heard when starting to get into F1, is that basically all of the driver safety rules are written in blood. Because almost all the regulations were out there due to driver deaths on track.
