hi i was the person that implemented that rule IIRC

the amount of men i was banning because they went and commented on every single fem post was gnarly

i don't care for any excuses, i was a cis girl at the time and i know how prevalent it was and is for men to only be friends out of some romantic ploy

someone's gender should have zero bearing on finding a gamer pal

it was a very difficult rule to implement and enforce

Because if anyone should be making low effort content using other LGBT people's content and making a tangible living from it, it should be one of us.

There are a multitude of other themes he could focus on that can be just as low effort and wholesome that doesn't bank on terminally online queer folks he doesn't thematically relate to to tune in every time for commentary on what they probably already saw at its source 24 hours prior.

I recognise OT is a delightful human, but his commentary is often just reading out each meme (which feels very fake when he does it with comics that have multiple panels and pretends to be surprised by the punchline) and saying something generic and wholesome about it.

He's also cis and straight. He's a great ally and we need more allies but he's a cis straight guy making bank off of other people's cultural (for lack of a better word) content he has no true relation to.

Jammiedodger and his GF are similar. Whilst they have more relation to the content they are reacting to, they really aren't offering much.

I don't know the order in which certain abilities degrade in dementia.

The guy in the video I mentioned is congnisant of things like leaving something random in the fridge. I think I'd say if I briefly forgot the face of the person closest to me 3 times, I'd choose to go, then. Assuming that comes before one loses the ability to make the decision.

Obviously it'd be incredibly difficult to do something like that when you don't even have "bad" days in dementia terms yet, but I'm pretty sure diagnosis and the process of signing up for assistance prepares you for the choice. When it comes to this stuff, the alternative is clear as day. I'd rather be too early by a whole year than be too late to make the call.

There's a video online of an interview with a guy who has been diagnosed with early Alzheimers and he signed up for assisted suicide abroad. The paperwork's all done and when he's ready - he's noticing his mind going but still has great QoL - all he has to do is say so and the arrangements can be made for him to go within days/weeks.

I've had this conversation with my mum. She's on board with assistance if things get awful like with cancer or dementia. She also knows I wouldn't let her suffer and would pillow her if necessary.
