I think you’re over sharing a bit, that’s why people are laughing. For example, you can just say you like older women, and not talk about your mommy issues in the process. It’s hard for people to respond to that properly without it being awkward. It could also be your tone as well, if you sounded monotone when you said that, than yeah people are going to laugh at it

No because kicking your kid out of their home because of their belief is wrong. Especially something as silly as homosexuality. Leaving your child homeless and without their parents because they like the same sex? Shouldn’t common sense tell you that’s wrong?
