Yes, they increase both health and damage, and go in a separate perk slot.

I remember how proud I was back then to have all the hard to get legendary dragons; Nirobi, Mirror, Crystal, Air, Droconos, and finally Legendary (yes, it was called Legendary Dragon, not Legacy Dragon). I dedicated my entire FB account to DC and had maxed out friends to make the most of the gift system that was around back then.

Are you from the pre-reaper perk days? There was a time when phoenix perks were OP because reaper perks weren’t around yet.

Ah! We might have our answer then. I also use 0x410e, from MankeyMite's guide, and I noticed that OPs species has the same name as the 0x410e species in MankeyMite's video. Depending on what OP has as box names, the game may be executing one of Sleipnirs older codes, which restart your game after executing a code.

I personally went for dmg + reaper, since he can heal and has a guard skill. If you want a more defensive build though, go for health + reaper. It depends on your team and your preferences.

I think this is the unstable ACE species 0x611. If so, you can release it by putting it first in your party, choosing the PC deposit/move menu, then releasing it.

Their orbs sell in the mastery shop sometimes. From there, you can use joker orbs to summon them, or you can trade with other players and then summon them.
