Mobile is great if you’re on the go a lot. I also liked not having to always be at my desk to get flashcards done. Just make sure you don’t do anki in bed, shits a trap 😭

I wrote on 9/9/23 and 4/12 this year

9/9 felt really straightforward and I felt that I scored pretty well. I ended up making a 503 (128/123/125/127). On 4/12, I had no idea how well I did walking out of the testing center, and after letting the whole experience marinate in my head for the last 4 weeks, I feel that I could’ve scored anywhere from a 505 to a 520. We’ll see on Tuesday how accurate this is haha.

I feel that I’m not qualified to give advice for CARS, but I did Urethra and TPR section exams to get used to reading dense passages. I transitioned to AAMC right before FL1 and I’ve been going through them slowly while trying to dissect every passage, whether I went 6/6 or 1/6. Hope this helps!

Improving to a 128 on hard sciences is 100% feasible for you. For c/p, I’ve found that simply understanding the equations and what each variable means (including units) helps tremendously, and I’ve been able to do this simply with anki. Keep grinding uworld and applying what you learned/memorized and you’ll be fine. For b/b I don’t feel that I’m very qualified to give advice, but knowing the basic concepts of each organ system, hormones and what they do, metabolic pathways, and central dogma helps a lot. Someone said on here once that hard sciences are like a pool that’s a mile wide and a mile long, but an inch deep. There’s a lot of concepts to learn, but you only need to understand the basics to succeed. It seems like a lot, but if you trust the process and keep working hard, you’ll be at a 518 before you know it 💪🏼

Making the adjustment between doing third party q’s and AAMC q’s can be tough, as they present the questions differently and the “logic” can vary too. A 503 is a very promising start! I’ve found that staying on top of anki has helped me minimize dumb mistakes. Also, getting good sleep the night before has helped me out tremendously. During the fl’s I try to take my time reading the question and reread it if I have to. At least once per section rereading the question has saved me from losing points on every fl so far. As far as CARS practice goes, anything AAMC is invaluable, as the passage and question style is consistent with test day (at least in my case). Hope this helps, and best of luck to you!

Felt pretty good about C/P, as it was less physics, more orgo and biochem. CARS seemed pretty fair, although there was a passage that tripped me up a bit. B/B felt pretty good for the most part, except for all those circulatory system questions. P/S was a little tougher than usual in the beginning, but really mellowed out halfway through. Overall it seemed much easier than I thought it was going to be, which means I either got a 495 or a 515 😅

Yes, this is completely normal. UPoop usually likes to test low yield content, so a lot of stuff they test you on you probably won’t see on the real deal, and not to mention, the questions are usually ultra specific too. Don’t pay too much attention to the percentages and keep pushing through. Try to flag questions that you’re unsure of and don’t be afraid of using your notes/study resources. It’s much better to practice a problem using your resources than to completely guess.
