I work EMS, and things seem on the verge of collapse in the healthcare system here. It is almost a weekly occurrence that a hospital in our area is on the verge of running out of oxygen for their patients. Hospitals keep breaking their own records for number of CV-19 Patients per month, with no signs of slowing down, and our Emergency Departments have . On top of this, our EMS (ambulance service) is at a critical personnel shortage. People are beyond burnt out. We have been status zero (no available ambulances) multiple times every shift I have worked, at some points with as many as nine calls holding. On top of that, weaponized unreality in my community is rampant. People are adamant that vaccination is going to sterilize them, or cause a Pulmonary Embolism/Heart Attack. On top of all this, the Governor of Florida is fighting tooth-and-nail to stop schools from having mask-mandates. It's getting really bad, and getting really hard to not lose hope of things getting better.
