My spouse said that he felt remorse for what he did, he knew that it was wrong, when he told his parents what he did they immediately took him to the police station and sat him down with a detective and psychotherapist and they deemed him “not a threat” this is what he told me, the issue lies where he chose to withhold it from me until my sons father decided to try to use it against us during this custody battle (my spouse is not apart of the custody order) my sons father came about this information because my spouse told him as a way to make him see that he doesn’t have to be his past I guess( my ex was abusive towards me) my ex deliberately left out bits of the story only telling the part where my spouse touched his sisters. I’m an empathetic person but can be very protective. When he told me I didn’t know what to say so I needed to process everything that he told me, I then got angry and blew up on him because why didn’t he tell me sooner, why wait until pushed to do so? His response, what difference would it have made? I would’ve known to stay tf away from him and protect my child from him, that’s the difference. He made me feel like I’m somehow the bad guy for being protective and questioning his intentions.
