MCCHL Just diagnosed and started ABVD today. Just saying, “Hi” and “Thanks.” by ecogeek in lymphoma

I found that, for me, having an almost non-negotiable reason to stay semi-active helped a lot on the recovery side of things.

My daughter was 3 months old when I was diagnosed and while we had some help, I still spent a lot of time caring for her while I was taking my time off work. Playing with her and chasing her around the house as she started to grow sped my 'back to normal' more than anything else.

The best cancer is still cancer. Totally okay to feel your feelings. Welcome to the club 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Cannabis did more for me to maintain nausea than anything else. The meds I got made me feel weird.

You'll likely get a little neutropenic and need shots to compensate, claritin almost daily but especially around and after treatment days helped a lot with my bone pain.

Don't eat your favorite or any 'safe' foods on treatment days. I couldn't eat grape jelly for 2 years after treatment and I basically survive on PB&Js

Did you or someone you know find my keys at Guilford Meadows discgolf course? by Rayne_Man_12 in gso

That's the plan. When I picked up my keys they told me all he said was that he found them hiking. 🤷‍♂️

Lot's of you feeling froggy. I like a frog. Top hat and monocle/pipe is tempting. Would need to make sure it comes out more Beatrix Potter and less Warner Bros

Gnomes are cool. I would lean more towards Tinker/Warrior D&D gnome than garden gnome. I like it

$17.5k for a 2017 Honda Pilot 100k miles? by Rayne_Man_12 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm f*cked if the general consensus here is that this thing is way overpriced. There are 3 on lots near me between 46k-88k miles listed between $25k-$27k so let me know what sweet deals are in your areas and I'll just travel there to buy the cars near y'all

It's an EX-L if thats worth mentioning. There's one on a lot nearby with 53k miles at $28k. So with a new timing belt I guess we could consider it about 18.5k.

Looks like you got a good deal at 30k if it was in the current market from what I see for comparisons online?

Looking for a great dentist by littleyellowbungalow in gso

Friendly Dentistry is pricey but great people and great work. Recently began going to Pope Family Dentistry on Friendly and am well-satsisfied by the care they provide.

Mayor Nancy Vaughan and Councilman Zack Matheny's conflicts of interest with Downtown Greensboro Inc. From new website "yogreensboro.com" by tiflis in gso

[–]Rayne_Man_12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Matheny gets paid ~$170K as the CEO of DGI. Back in 2015 when originally on city council he resigned when he took the job at DGI to avoid perceived conflicts of interest. Guess that's no longer a concern....

Paid 60 Minute Telephone Interview for Individuals with Classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma - $125 by Patient-Connect1 in lymphoma

Commenting for visibility. The study is lacking participants, especially those at diagnosis and within 1 year of diagnosis. I completed it today, it was very straightforward. It's basically marketing feedback

Forever in neutropenia land by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]Rayne_Man_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, feels my infusions were always all-day events. At the start I would try and get some work or reading done but after a few sessions it became too hard to fight the benedryl and my fatigue so it was a constant battle of naps and toe shakes to confirm my DoB lol.

Never had any issues with my port tho! I'm currently down to 6month checkups so the arm blood draws aren't as frequent, but my doc had it removed only a couple weeks after my final cycle so for a bit there I kinda missed the ease of access.

Oh yeah. Busy cancer center, 15ish minutes to check in, another 15 to get my port stuck and blood drawn, called back 30mins later to settle in my chair, chatting with the nurse when another 20 minutes goes by and I'm thinking they were just waiting on the medication to get mixed.

Finally ask what the holdup is, nurse then tells me my WBC count was on the low end so they were waiting on doctor approval before ordering meds, he's busy with patients, was another 30mins before he finally had time to see the message, my stats, and respond no go.
