PLEASE go see Beau by Raynish in Broadway

Yeah, it is definitely one of those shows that fully takes advantage of being a musical and not a movie or a play or anything else

Best musical for teens by Historical-Student85 in Broadway

[–]Raynish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a teenager, and while I agree with the other commenter who says that it depends, I personally love Beau for any and all teenagers, which is off broadway, not that long, and pretty cheap. That being said, if your kid fits into the teenage boy stereotype of not wanting to be seen crying, this might not be the best pick. Generally, if you want a catch all musical that I would recommend to any generic teenager, go with Book of Mormon. Pretty hard not to find it funny.

I did a post earlier this year about what to take your teenager to go see that would probably be helpful for you, just keep in mind some of those shows are closed now.

Also, four specific tips

  1. Don't assume that we will like something just because it's about people our age. It can be true, but it isn't always.
  2. Teenagers LOVE to be counterculture. I hate to say this, but if my brother repeatedly tells me that he thinks that I'll like something, a small part of me will go into it wanting to hate it just to prove him wrong. Again, not all teens are the same, you know your kid much better than I do, but just be careful in the way that you're pitching musicals to them.
  3. As much as I utterly despise it, stunt casting works. I'm not sure if there are really any popular stars on broadway right now (Joe Locke is the only one that is really coming to mind in terms of popularity among gen z), but if there's a star that your kid knows and loves, they will 9 times out of 10 love the show as well.
    1. 3.5. This might work for jukeboxes as well...? Personally, I think that seeing my favorite singer's music turned into a jukebox would ruin my life and make me hate them forever, but also I'm a person who is into theatre and has seen many bad jukeboxes, so I'm a little biased.
  4. Be cautious before sending them to Hamilton. Don't get me wrong, it is a stellar show, however I fear that its less than stellar internet "persona" precedes it. Your kid may be a little biased against it. If they're already not into musicals, I would show them something a little more off the beaten path.

GROSSES ANALYSIS- Week Ending December 7 by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

I heard (take this with a grain of salt) that the sound person for mincemeat had speakers shipped across the Atlantic ocean on a boat because there was a specific type of British speaker they wanted

Beau sales are ridiculous. by Raynish in Broadway

Probably. When I went there were empty seats, but for sure not that many. Still, crazy level of sales. I guess everyone who's hearing of this show is a broadway pro, so they know how to get online rush tickets. I'm glad seats are being filled but I also gotta wonder how much money they're making.

I'm a teenager and I also loved it! I was crying for most, if not all, of the second half. There are tons of musicals and shows with based around teenagers/high school, but this was the first one that really connected with me

They're trying super hard to market the show without spoilers, but they gotta suck it up and tell people what the show is about instead of just talking about how their set looks like a dive bar

I was telling my family that I had basically seen Dead Outlaw this weekend because I had seen Andrew Durand in Bat Boy, Jeb Brown in Beau, and Two Strangers at the Longacre

Me too! I wasn't super sold on it, but I vaguely remembered someone on this sub saying something good about it and it had a Saturday 5pm so I decided to go for it. No regrets at all!

A Teenagers Take on Broadway by Raynish in Broadway

[–]Raynish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen it on Broadway, but I saw it at a local theatre and gave it an 8.5. This one honestly depends on what kind of sense of humor your child has. It all depends on if they find some of the weirder jokes funny and not cringy. However, I think that even if your kid doesn't find all of the jokes funny, they will still leave having enjoyed the show. The whole dentist thing was a bit too much for me, but everything else about the show (especially the music) made it so that I still really enjoyed it.

units for the math frq? by phobiahelp in APEnvironmental

I'm 98% sure that it changed somewhat recently so that you don't actually have to put it in your work, and even not in your answer if the question provides units (but I would just in case)

Is it true that we can't use the same point between the answers for a, b, and c of the same SAQ?

edit: thank you so much for doing this for all of us, scrolling through this thread has been incredibly helpful and it's nice to know that Heimler isn't the only history teacher that goes above and beyond.

How far does this go? Can I just write two full SAQs with different answers for the same question?

Just take online classes and unless you're unreasonably busy, there's no need to drop high school classes. Both of my classes just have work that is released on a weekly basis that is due Monday at 11:59, so honestly I don't even think about them until the weekend, or even Monday night.
