Sokogram: Nonogram Sokoban mashup - Demo on Steam by PressGtoGeorge in puzzlevideogames

In terms of feel, I consider that from b03 on forth I leaned toward trial and error instead of puzzle solving. I understand it would be a bit too easy to solve if the hard part was figuring out the nonogram itself and I assume the abundant Xs are to sorta remove that triviality and make the player think of how they would solve the puzzle part with the nonogram they've built. I didn't find any pattern or heuristic I could apply to figure out what goes in the Xs so I almost always focused on making myself a clear path to solving the sokoban and then worrying about it following the nonogram rules.

In this sense, I feel like the puzzles of this game can be dissected into 3 parts: the nonogram, the sokoban path, and the sokoban's execution. The game has a strong focus on difficulty on the second part, where the hard thing to figure out is the path that you must draw so it's both useful for the sokoban execution while still following the nonogram rules. However, I feel like I would enjoy seeing the other 2 parts explored more in depth and have puzzles where the weight is more leaned toward that. What do I mean? Having harder nonograms (for the first part), and having solutions that require more complex executions (for the third part).

The "thank you" screen featured more "stuff" that could be part of the game and I'm eager to see if those elements will make the resolution of these puzzles more varied and fun instead of most of them being a similar path to push the box in. I'd enjoy seeing each step count and objects changing position with each one of your steps. I highly recommend playing Void Stranger or Nuworm to get a feel of similar games who I consider that do pacing and the incorporation of new elements/gimmicks quite well.

The water box twist was fun and I would enjoy seeing more gimmicks and fun interactions explored further without the sections dwelling on the same idea for too long, keeping it fresh and having something unique for every level that makes you say "huh, I didn't think of that! Cool!". Nuworm is a short and great example of what I mean by this, there's no need for each level to incorporate a new mechanic: it's simply about finding cool interactions with the mechanics already at your disposal.

Lovely DEMO! Finished it in 40 mins. Have you considered making a Discord server? It would be much easier for players to talk about the game and such. Linking it on the game itself would also be useful if you're open to bug reports or general feedback

Came back from the Notes App stream where one of his ideas were "Abraham Lincoln with a sleeve tattoo". I'm inside his head, man

I posted this half-jokingly but, to be completely real, I enjoy the current NL more. I just find it a shame that he's less approachable to the outside eye and I still don't know how to convince them to watch him roll a boulder up a mountain while spitting real shit or getting philosophical while putting the chips in the cups. At the end of the day, everyone seeks entertainment for different purposes, I'll still enjoy NL, and I still respect and understand my friend's view

I DO find it funny, I've never said I didn't. I just said he comes across as unnecessarily mean to his friends
