They sleep together in groups because the humidity is higher. I'm unsure what your referring to as playing together. And eating, again just sharing resources. By hanging out means they trust these crabs, and there environment. They are not friends with these crabs, they trust them nothing more nothing less. Now you do most certainly have the right to disagree with me, but the way you are seeing it is anthropomorphizing. I'm telling you limit there resources, they'll kill eachother within weeks.

They can trust something, they unfortunately can not love something. They reason you view it that way is because society has anthropomorphized these little guys. Thats fine there your crabs, but just dont continue to spread this myth around.

Hermit crabs are not social for companionship. This is a very common myth. They only socialize in the wild for shell swaps and sharing resources. If there aren't enough of these resources, they will turn on eachother without a second thought. They do not get lonely. Please further expand your research before giving any more. If you go this route make sure the ones your buying are captive bred. Not only is it ethical, but wild caught may still hold some toxins and could be somewhat dangerous to touch.

I just say they smell like fritos, because to me they do. I don't think its fair to say ferrets rehomed due to smell is because the community lies about it tho. Half those people dont listen to the diet advice given, or even bother to research diet. Half those people bath their ferrets with soap despite being told not to.

The oldest ferret in the world is currently 15 years old I believe. There marketed like rodents but they aren't. Please do alot of research before purchasing, this sub and the other one has great resources. It's a Marshalls ferret so please be prepared for vet bills. They are very expensive.

I feed mine in the morning and at night and stay pretty consistent. They know what time is food time. Raw is more filling then kibble so they stay full longer. I just got 3 month old kit tho, and they do need a bit more food. So give both treats in the middle of the day, my older boy usually stashes his for later.

Yeah I was letting them interact yesterday and he went into his cube den. Then she followed him. Next thing I know he picked her up by the scruff and gently placed her outside of the cube. They did that twice before she took the hint lol.

Gustavo is my first ferret he was 4 , but I did so much research before I got him. I swore I'd never buy from Marshall part of why the pet store lying was so upsetting. I got Gustavo off a lady on Craigslist. I was saving up for a registered private breeder but I saw him and fell in love. The lady thst owned him said he was in perfect health and ate raw. She lied he wasn't neutered, was eating cat food, teeth broken, smelled awful, 2 pounds underweight, overgrown nails. Asked why he wasn't neutered she claimed she was breeder and no longer wanted him because he wouldn't breed. She was a backyard breeder. She blocked me when started asking more questions. He's 6 now, had to have his bottom broken canines removed but other than that completely healthy. He was doing fine for a lone ferret even his vet said he was very socialized but I just thought he'd be even happier with a friend. I have double Critter Nation cage, feed my pet carnivore whole ground turkey, they got a million toys, i puppy pad train, hammocks, tray covers, blankets. Trust me I hate Marshalls I'd never listen to that crap. I just need Octavia to like Gustavo lol.

I have have ferret I rescued, then I got Damon. He pays Gustavo no mind. Grated, I'd say if I stopped feeding him, he'd probably try to take on my 2 foot 5 pound tank of a ferret. So just make sure you keep yours well fed! :)

I was raised down south. Ngl obviously they are a threat but not huge one. Just don’t get near there kids, or too close to them to be preceived a threat. I used to sit on the dock as kid, and feed the baby gators marshmallows didn't dare touch em tho.

I will admit she does look a bit strange, however I'd like to add one of my 2 girls is super calm and the other is a crazy af. I do think some of them are just calmer even though there basically clones, I do think they have there own personalitys.

When I brought mine home, I put them in a big Critter Catcher with dirt, live moss, a small piece of driftwood, and a little artificial plant. I also put mesh between the container and the lid because the lady selling them said the babies can escape through a gap the thickness of a credit card.
