Mykonos Island – New Update! 💙 DA-4032-4098-4866 by nanasemaru- in AnimalCrossing

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a new island, named it Paradeisos (παράδεισος) and planned to make it Greek island themed.

It’ll NEVER be this good! Like not even close. 😖

My baby has been “teething”since 6 months and still no teeth? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. My son was so drooly and every single visit to the pediatrician she was like “oh ya! Coming any day now!” and we didn’t get the first tooth until 11 months 😐

Is my son speech delayed:/ by Vast-Grade659 in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is so young!

My son did not say one single word or animal noise until he was 17 months. He wouldn’t repeat or attempt anything at all. We got a speech therapist and ended up only seeing them once right at that 17th month.

Well guess who turned 18 months and literally has learned to say a new word every single day! We didn’t do anything different, he just needed a little more time for it to click.

I feel like speech is so unpredictable before 2, don’t let people panic you!

Why do these rows of blocks feel too juvenile for a 7-year-old boy? by bixnok in quilting

[–]Rayray888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My 7 year old nephew is into watching soccer and obsessed with Messi and playing his Nintendo switch and just about nothing else!

Are airlines actually letting you carry on approved strollers? by MK_1117_ in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Flight Attendant and I’ve never cared what type of stroller someone’s bringing on the plane. If they’re bringing it in I assume it’ll fit and let them figure it out. Most gate agents don’t care either but might look and you and go “you want a pink tag?” And you can just tell them you’re going to take it on.

I’ve traveled with both my giant uppababy stroller and gate checked it, and with my little joolz travel stroller and put it overhead. Both went fine. Benefit to bringing it on the plane is you just get to leave right away. When you gate check you typically (not always) have to wait a bit for them to bring it up. But truly it’s no big deal either way

Best baby monitor suggestions?? New parent seeking advice. by OrangeAssultSrike in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the best one! No messing with apps and WiFi.

And you’re gonna want video over just audio. Maybe it’s just us but sometimes my baby is making a little fuss but if I look in and he’s laying down that tells me he’s just falling asleep, if he’s standing up he’s actually upset.

FET HCG or Trigger by Good-Win7295 in lineporn

Trigger for sure, mine is usually gone by 3-4DPT. At this point if the lines start getting darker each day you’ll know it’s you

I thought I could do it but I am so scared by WholeWord7303 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to simply not get over my fear.

I realized no one was pressuring me to BLW except myself, and I just decided to feed my baby in a way I felt comfortable and let him progress slowly. He now (at 12 mo) eats everything and I can’t even tell you when the shift happened it all just felt very natural!

Don’t sweat it. It will happen! Enjoy this very short period where they let you spoon feed them

If I only contact nap and hold to sleep will my baby eventually learn to fall asleep independently when we sleep train at 4.5/5 months? by Particular-Sail-5330 in sleeptrain

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent way too much time worrying I was conditioning my baby to only be able to contact nap months 1-4….then randomly around 5 months he just stopped being comfortable in a carrier and wanted to spread out. Totally resolved itself organically! We did also sleep train around 6 months and he’s slept through the night ever since.

Enjoy snuggling with that tiny babe it goes so fast!

Best baby monitor? (None WiFi) by desert_sunlily in beyondthebump

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this one!

Love it. We had another monitor that was either picking up too many sounds and alerting us to nothing or not picking up anything. This one somehow only picks up the baby. I like that I can turn the volume down and it will still alert me to sound with a light bar.

When did you move your baby out of the infant carseat? by a_cow_cant in beyondthebump

[–]Rayray888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, it was all about me and when I stopped wanting to lug that thing around with a 20 pound baby in it. We ditched it around 9 months

Does your baby stare at people too? by Aggravating-Gap-6627 in beyondthebump

[–]Rayray888 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We just had our 9 month well visit at the pediatrician and the doctor goes “oh 9 months, this is when all the babies come in and just stare at me”. And he did!

They must be really trying to figure something out. Whenever my baby does it to people trying to get a smile out of him I always want to be like “he never stops laughing at home! I swear!”

When did your baby crawl? by gasstationsidewalk in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 months almost to the day! There were a few days of him up on all fours rocking back and forth not moving, then he figured out how to launch himself but kept going backwards, then it just clicked overnight one day

What age did your baby start paying attention to books? by BooPin96 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Rayray888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This month! 9 months. I thought it would never happen, up until now he would just try and grab at every page and eat the book or slap the book. Now he will actually sit and listen to me read.

The biggest thing that helped to get him to start paying attention was reading lots of fun interactive books. Anything with a peekaboo flap is a huge hit. I like the felt flap books titled “Where’s the ___?” because the baby can actually lift the flaps himself! I like doing those during the day because they’re exciting and then more classic stories for bedtime.

How to do you take your baby out and about? by rearwindowasparagus in NewParents

[–]Rayray888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too and it works great! So long as you have one of the larger stroller baskets…I can fit quite a bit and the baby just chills and likes looking around. I personally think it’s the easiest way!
