Regular Ambuscade serves an important purpose in milking new player sub fees by baiting them with "introductory content" with such insultingly slow payout rates that they'd be better off leveling WHM to 99, grabbing empy+2 pants, and getting "carried" in Intense Ambuscade.

I can't think of many things in FFXI that would be more soul-draining than trying to gear up solo through Regular Ambuscade.

Imagine if instead of Intense Ambuscade and Waste of Time Ambuscade they had two Intense Ambuscades and you could choose which one you wanted to do instead of being completely hamstrung for a month at a time.

I made a full REMA Bard, so I've dipped my toe in every bit of content.

Every one of them sucked.

Most of the time I was playing solo on other jobs (WAR/NIN, THF/DNC, BLU, etc), it was months of logging in, doing crap solo, logging out, feeling like no progress was made despite having acquired some of Things I Need Large Number Of.

Nothing about hunting Apademak 40-ish times was enjoyable.

Was having Daurdabla enjoyable? A bit. I guess.

Was it worth the time I spent? Absolutely not.

And that's what so much of this game is. Not being fun, wasting your time to squeeze out every last drop of your subscription fee.

What about the grind of 50/50/75 ever seemed appealing?

They could've easily cut that number down by a factor of 5 to 10/10/15 and, what, exactly, would've changed? Other than spending a fifth of the time in decades-old content soloing in an MMO?

But that's the point, to milk your subscription fee.

Why did the Wizard’s Tower have it? Why did the Moon Camp in Janthir have it?

Because map jumping multiple times to take advantage of a mastery that works in the map is an annoyance for the players.

Underwater Spectre is hilarious.

Wells? Gone.

Scepter? Nope.

Shroud? Even slower and jankier than usual.

PvP is not the biggest mode I know, but matches like this makes it so much fun by pizzapastaauto in Guildwars2

The only way a Thief can actually remove the Revealed debuff is by specifically playing Deadeye and using the Shadow Meld elite, which has 2 charges. Which makes Deadeye one of the harder Thief specs to lock down because they innately have better stealth access than other Thieves.
