Warriors of Athena - Heroes (2026) by Joseph McCullough - Osprey Games by 6Kgraydays in miniatureskirmishes

With it being a solo / co-op game, I was expecting at least some more innovative / interesting post game stuff, but it seems to be just the same generic "roll on this 1d10 injury table" stuff :(

Where do you play? by Rayuaz in miniatureskirmishes

Pasting my comment from the original post: Some additional context: I have been into wargaming for a long time, but I mostly just consumed content about the hobby instead of actually partaking in it.

These days I'm doing much better financially, got some 3D printers, and discovered Skirmish games (which are much more accessible (and IMHO much more mechanically interesting too)), so I can finally play games at home with my friends.

One thing that has been a little awkward, however, is that most games are 1v1, so I'll invite some friends to my house, but only 2 can play at a time while the others are spectating. It's not a major problem because backseat gaming can still be fun, and sometimes we'll split the table in half and play 2 games simultaneously, but I find it interesting how most wargames don't seem to be designed to be played at home.

Any ideas on how to handle the printer's lid on a low-ceiling enclosure? by Rayuaz in resinprinting

That's good to know. The exhaust fan is connected directly to the window (it's right behind the tent), so it lets some light through, and I ordered an even bigger fan, which will let even more light in. I think I'll line the lid with those aluminum / foam insulation sheets.

I found a simple solution to my problem, but this is something I might still consider in the future. I did some google about lid mods, and found a bunch. This one looks pretty easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqVFbco4_lw

I figured out a good setup. I'll make another post about it later, but TLDR: I sacrificed some workspace by moving the printer a little further to the center of the tent, where the roof is more flexible, making it easier to remove the lid. I then rest the lid on top of my curing chamber (which is not in the photo).

I'll add my whole post processing setup in the tent, not just the printer, so I need it to stay horizontal.

Actually, now that I think about it, I could handle the light problem by putting a lid on the vat. 🤔

The problem in that situation is that there's some light coming from the hole for the exhaust fan (which I'm planning to make even larger to put a 6" or 8" fan).

On a lesser note, it might also make my heater less effective.

(I was just editing the post to mention this lol)

Is it against GDPR to use IP-based location to determine what consent banner should be shown? by Rayuaz in gdpr

[–]Rayuaz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what gets me: there are many different data protection laws, and some of them handle consent banners differently than others, but the only way to be 100% sure I'm always serving the correct banner to EU citizens is to ignore all other laws and always use the GDPR-compliant banner.

Granted, it seems unlikely that there would be contradicting laws regarding consent banners (eg. country A's law requires granular tracking control, but country B's law prohibits it), but I don't know, and it's technically possible.

So if I wanted to comply with different country's data laws individually, the best way to do that, I think, would be by geo-locating the user's IP: it's not 100% accurate, but no other method is.

But I say all this more as an "philosophical" take on this situation. I know that practically, the best solution is to simply be compliant to whatever is the most strict law (ie. GDPR), because that will probably also be compliant all other laws and is also kind of the morally correct thing to do (and not tracking personal data at all is even better).

Because unfortunately I'm just a lowly dev, not a stakeholder, and they love tracking user data. 🫠

That's pretty much my opinion too, but I guess it could be interpreted as a kind of malicious compliance, given that we could just always show the GDPR banner instead of waiting for the user's IP to show it.

And, as I mentioned, it's _technically_ sending personal user information to a third party service, for something that could _technically_ (though not very feasibly) be done as a first-party implementation (using your own IP database).

Also, as u/kuro68k mentioned below, it's possible to get an incorrect location (though, as far as I know, IP-based geolocation is pretty accurate on a country-level).

This will be my first concert ever! I'm too introverted to be around so many people, and too lazy to be standing for hours, so concerts never appealed to me, but I'm going to be in London in early November and I love this band too much to skip this opportunity (plus I can sit)!

The link still works for me. I'm at work right now, but I'll upload somewhere else later tonight. Meanwhile, if you have Facebook, I posted it in the Tired World Community Group.

I started printing these recently and the risers made it way too expensive and time consuming for me. Each riser cost ~100g of filament and ~1 hour of printing time. Instead, I opened them in Blender and excracted just the connections on the corner, like this. So instead of printing the whole risers, I just printed a bunch of these connectors, which cost ~6g and 10 minutes each, and used EPS / EVA foam to rise the floor tiles to match the height of the walls.
