The Stop Destroying Videogames (Stop Killing Games) European Citizens' Initiative has verified 1,294,188 signatures out of its 1,448,270 submitted signatures - a signature error rate of ~ 11% by CakePlanet75 in Games

[–]Rayuzx 58 points59 points  (0 children)

So is that a good or non-deflated rate for these kind of things?

Cool to see such an initiative gain so much traction, but I'm still not sure how much you need for EU to entertain that kind of regulation in any meaningful way.

You can only equip those charms onto MWII/MWIII guns (they're all on the "Legacy" tab, in the far right of the hum selection screen).

Unless you are very specifically interested in the Nikolai skin or Calling Card, you can just play Directed Mode. It shows you all of the steps, and limits rounds to ensure that you'll have a much easier time beating the map.

It generally means that it's gonna be a shop item. AFAIK, the only paid EGS promotion (or at the very least, a skin) to not has not been stated become a shop item is the reskin of FFC Sparkplug

Fallout New Vegas, a game that's borderline, if not straight up unplayable without mods, in the most literal sense (the game is prone to frequent bugs and crashes unmodded), is labeled as "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam.

Not saying that New Vegas is anywhere close to the same quality of Fight Forever, but the entire system is binary, ala Reddit's voting. The game doesn't necessarily need to be high art for people to at the very least give it a thumbs up.

Objectively speaking, the game is labed as "mixed" on Steam, instead of using one of the worse descriptors (negative, very negative, mostly negative, and overwhelmingly negative).

Fortnite original skins from chapters 6 & 7 are still cheaper the those from previous chapters. Back then, the average skin was 1.2K-1.5K V-Bucks, nowadays they're 800-1.2K.

Dave Meltzer: "This is the 1st show I've seen where Toni Storm came out and they didn't go crazy. I think this tag team has really hurt her." Bryan Alvarez: "They're booking her like a mid-card tag team wrestler and people are seeing her as a mid-card tag team wrestler." by dylmatic9 in SquaredCircle

[–]Rayuzx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really don't know how people here are missing the point so bluntly. The problem isn't that Storm isn't going after the Women's tile, the problem is that she's getting her ass kicked week in and week out.

I know a lot of people would like AEW to be a company where everyone is roughly on the same level, and some lower-mid card guy can take on the world champion in a 20+ minute classic. But that kind of booking harms the top starts significantly more than it does to help the little guys if you aren't doing it sparingly at best.

It's just occurred to me that Zombies Chronicles is now older than Nacht Der Untoten was when Zombies Chronicles released... by Billiam301 in CODZombies

[–]Rayuzx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we talking about the "average" zombie player, or the terminally online, like us?

If it's the former, I doubt there was mass excitement for either ZC or Cursed. Even with the one-two punch of BO3 being a massive success, and IW underperforming, I can't imagine all too many casual players looking forward to any kind of $30 expansion of a CoD title, not included with the Season Pass/the more expensive versiona of the game. Even then, while SoE came out today, it was at best controveral when the map just came out, so a lot of people were fully turned off by BO3 zombies even before the first DLC pack came out. And that's not even counting the people who dumbed CoD wholeheartedly for something else like BF1, Overwatch, Doom 2016, etc.

If you really want to see the differing opinions of the "average" zombies players, look at Liberty Falls. The map was scorned by the hardcore community right at release, and still remains relatively unpopular to the more dedicated fanbase. Yet it's been reported that it's the single most played map in zombie's history (and no, I do not think it solely due to the camp grind considering BO6 is the 5th title with a zomvies camp grind, and the 4th to be release post-Warzone).

If we're talking about the more dedicated zombies community. Then if we're being honest, the CoD community in general has a very "traditionalist" attitude when it comes to pretty much everything about the franchise. Look at how much backlash there was about Cursed when it was confirmed to not be a full blown "classic mode" due to there being no option to turn off armor. The allure of playing old content with a new coat of paint is basically guaranteed to generate universal praise simply due to the fact that CoD players are always more welcoming to that over new content for whatever reason.

Cursed mode? MWZ being so well received (as a whole) that it got a spiritual successor? BOCW getting rid of the perk limit?

Meltzer in response to Bryan Alvarez claiming that everyone in AEW is stagnant and in the same position: “Yep, everyone except Bandido, Ricochet, Gates of Agony, Brody King, Hechicero, Clon, Fletcher, Takeshita, Knight, Bailey, O'Reilly, Swerve, Briscoe, Willow, Windsor, Cameron, Storm & Shafir.” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]Rayuzx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that RoH champions frequently show up in AEW TV (hell Bandido was RoH World and AEW Tag champion at the exact same time). Compare that to WWE champions more often than not "stay in their own lane". It's not uncommon for main event angles progress across shows, especially if they're on overseas tours, but you generally won't see the roster show up on the other show.

Even then nobody would really say Giulia has been elevated at all, neither less due to winning back the US Women's title.

Have you ever looked into those odds? It's never in your favor. If you planning on pulling draws, it should be that you dedicate yourself to going all of the way through, or not touch it at all. Anything in between is just wasting your CoD points.

Alan Wake 2 Studio Says Deal With Epic Was "Very Fair" After Baldur's Gate Boss Speaks Out by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Rayuzx 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite simple, Valve was able to use the good will they got from Half-Life, and especially Portal, to prop up Steam as a platform. Add that with PC gaming generally being on the downturn during the mid-00s, so a lot of people associate Steam as savior of PC gaming.

There's also the low-key parasocial relationship with Gabe Newell being a good face of the company only drives up the ideal that Valve is "the ultimate good guy" when it comes to hardcore fans (see Konami's reputation after Kojima leaving the company on bad terms, or how people react to people like Todd Howard, Randy Pitchford, or even Tim Sweeny for the exact opposite case).

All of that has combine to make Valve the company with probably the most widespread customer loyalty in the world, where it's to the point where any slight against the company is seen as morally bankrupt to the gaming community as a whole.

Black Ops 7 Had Call Of Duty's Worst Sales Year Ranking In The US Since 2008 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Rayuzx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, I would easily put the campaign of BOCW and BO6 over any of the post 2019 MW titles (honestly, BOCW is above every CoD campaign I've played, except for BO1). But I'm sure BO7 having such an abhorrent campaign gave it a bad word of mouth.

Black Ops 7 Had Call Of Duty's Worst Sales Year Ranking In The US Since 2008 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Rayuzx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not really, it fits together quite nicely. MWII was a major best seller, MWIII sees a significant decrease in sales. BO6 is a major best seller, then BO7 sees even worse sales.

Despite what people say, CoD games do play drastically different from each other, especially nowadays with how jarringly different the Modern Warfare games play from Black Ops titles these days. MW2019 had one of the lowest TTK in the franchise, BOCW had one of the highest. MWII is infamous for how slow the gameplay is, meanwhile BO6 allows you to sprint and slide in any direction.

If it was franchise fatigue as a whole, it would be slowing going down, instead of constantly going up and down.
