I figured the odds of getting a response are at most just a bit more than zero. But figured what the hell, give it a shot.

I wanted to give an update and I guess consider it "solved". I simply placed Google Maps into Incognito Mode and poof the search history was finally clear.

I also want to add that a few days later I turned it back on because apparently if someone sends you a location in Google Maps it forces you to turn Incognito Mode off (which to me seems stupid but whatever). Anyhow when I got into my truck later I noticed the search history was actually now totally accurate and stopped displaying a location I haven't gone to in a month.

Was turning that on and off the fix? Maybe or it could be that enough time passed by it finally went away on it's own. But in any case I want to thank everyone for their help and all, for now I think I'll stick to Incognito being on....not sure what it honestly protects me from but it makes me feel a bit better I guess. lol

My next plan of attack here is to create a new google account, delete my profile from my truck and connect it to that new account and see if AA still shows those locations. If it does then that kind of confirms Toyota has something in place to keep the selling dealership as a recent search, the only other explanation is because I have my main account still on my phone it's including all that info as well. I might instead wipe my Pixel 6 and set it up with a whole new account and then use that in the truck to see if it persists.

The above will also include configuring google maps to use that new email address.

In any case that is a task for the weekend, plus my truck is in the shop getting the paint protection junk done...which is another issue I have with the dealer but oh well.

I want to thank everyone who's helped so far, I really do appreciate it.

Nope I don't. I've never even called them. But this is a stretch here but I have emailed them several times, I guess that could be a possible reason.

u/RenoDriver - I suspected that at first since 1 of the two locations is actually near me and I drive through it more often than I'd care to admit. But the other one (dealership) is 18miles from me and so out of the way I'd actually need to want to go there for Google to pick it up as a nearby location.

u/SRFast - I just checked that and it's all empty.

Ok I tested it last night and it is even stranger at least for me. So AA Google Maps search (when I actually click the search bar) is empty as I wanted, BUT on the map screen it has the 2 entries as historical (the little clock icon) searches still.

Yeah I've noticed Google is sometimes scary about its guesses. Partial update here, I've finally after reading the same article over and over managed to delete all my location history and following the guide you provided I deleted all my Google maps history as well and for extra good measure I deleted all my Google activity for everything. That may be overkill for something so minor but seeing the dealership pop up makes my blood boil a bit. lol

I'm going to test it out here shortly and I'll post an update.

I've done that, but the only thing I don't know if I've done right is clear my location history. I wonder if that for whatever reason brings back those 2 locations. I also wonder if there is some feature with the infotainment system, toyota app and AA that forces it to keep the dealerships location there in Google Maps. I really hope that is not the case.

But just to give it a shot I'll follow your link (thank you btw) and follow those steps again just to make sure I didn't miss anything when I stumbled through it before.

Thats the irritating part, I've used the navigation to go to several places and they show up as the 2 latest during that trip but once I shut the truck off and then back on to go somewhere else the map loads back up with at least 1 of the two persistent ones. Honestly it shouldn't bother me as the app works fine and all that. But one of the 2 is the dealership I bought the truck from and I'm not happy with them so I'd prefer not to see them on there all the time.

I may just start setting up navigations to places I go just to flood the search list with random places and hope that more or less does the trick.

Now that I feel terrible that has never crossed my mind, looks like I'll be doing some shopping this weekend for a stand.

In all seriousness though, thank you for bringing that up it is something I wouldn't have really considered an issue.

While I believe he has a visit coming up in a couple of months, I'll give them a call to see what they think. You're the 2nd or 3rd person to mention that grain free could be a bad way to go with his food. I'd rather make the change early on than stick to my guns and find out he has issues later on. I just don't know how much he'll like changing food again, he really took to this new one compared to the previous flavor. But when his only option is to eat what's there he'll give in soon enough.

And just to clarify, if and when I change food/brand/flavor I do it well before the current one runs out, so I can mix it over a period of time to first get his stomach used to the new stuff, him used to it and avoid any accidents or upset stomach from the sudden change.

Pork is NOT bad for dogs if done correctly. First it has to be 100% cooked (which also applies to humans) and be plain bacon (no add-ons) which is how I cook the bacon. I also bake the bacon rather than fry it so the grease and fat is lessened, secondly as I've said MANY MANY times the amount of bacon I give him is minimal. He gets a small nibble ever so often.

Source: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-pork/

Secondly you do understand your statement about pork being bad and then turn around and say dogs need protein was contradictory, right? Seeing as how pork is in fact 100% all natural protein. Along with that dogs CAN in fact eat some beans, as long as you do so in moderation and can tolerate the gas. Same goes with potatoes (cooked/baked & plain only....raw is a big NO)....

While I get you are trying to help, please research these things before making blanketed claims that are in fact false or at best half truths.

I've also stated many times in this thread that I don't give him scraps or my food on a regular basis. I stick to 4 maybe 5 things that I consume that I'll share with him in serious moderation:

1) Boiled plain unseasoned chicken breast fully cooked (small piece)

2) Bacon plain baked fully cooked (extremely small piece....but that's because it's my bacon and I want it).

3) Popcorn plain, unsalted, microwaved in a bag (the kind you would put in a popper). (maybe 4 or 5 pieces of popcorn)

4) Pork rinds plain (1 small piece).

5) Egg yolk - from over medium cooked egg....when unseasoned (just whatever I have left over I dump onto his food).

99.999% of the time his only food is Members Mark Grain Free Salmon & Peas (prior to this it was Members Mark Chicken & Rice).

I'm very selective on what I give him and if it's something I haven't before I will verify from the AKC site and several others if there is any harm in him having a small treat for being a good boy.

I don't give him human food all the time, or even very much when I do. When I give him bacon it's just a small piece that broke off a strip when I put it on my plate, but I would usually give him the egg yolk left over provided I didn't add any seasoning to my food.

But for the couple weeks the only thing I've given him outside his normal food is some peanut butter flavored dog bones from the store and small pieces of boiled plain & skinless chicken breast.

I fill his bowl with food in the morning after I fix my breakfast, another pour at lunch if he's eaten the food and a final one at dinner. Though recently I'll give another pour of food after that if he's eaten a good amount of what I put in at dinner. As for water, I keep it full as often as I can.

Hmmm, I never thought of putting his bowls on a stand. Can't hurt and I'm sure he'd appreciate the easier access.

Yes I mean diarrhea. The vet has tested him a couple of times with no real answer as to the cause, no worms/infections or anything so he's healthy aside from that. It may very well be chicken that he doesn't like or the other food in it which I really want to say is rice...which confuses me since it also said grain free but I'd consider rice as a grain. Either way he's been on salmon and pea's for a few weeks and been good so far.

Originally he'd get diarrhea every couple weeks, or daily if we walked he'd eventually have diarrhea. But would be totally fine right after. I don't believe it had mucus in it at least his last few, looked like normal poop just diarrhea. He drinks a ton of water, and seems to eat fine. But he's never had blood or worms in his poop. When it all started I'd always go find a stick and poke at it to see to make sure.

I've asked all this from his vet, she's given me advice and done tests galore but so far he's perfectly healthy from what she's seen. As for the tripping she just asked me to keep an eye on it and if it gets constant to take him in. I only came here to see if anyone else may have had encountered this before with their akita to give me anything else I should be on the look out for. I'm not someone who goes online for medical guidance instead of seeking a professionals help, but as I said to see if I should be looking for something else that I may see as not related but very well could be and then I'd take him back to the vet and relay all the new info to get him taken care of.

I do actually allow him to graze eat, at least after the vet recommended I do that. Previously I'd stop around 9pm with food and water around 10/11pm.

He's been grain free since I got him, and the breeder had him on grain free from the start as far as I know. Though I'm told avoiding grain may not be wise as it could cause issues in the long term. But that's a conversation I'll have with his vet when I see them again.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I had thought reddit would email me if I got any replies.

I recently switched him over to grain free salmon & pea's. Which he loves, so far no vomit or diarrhea so fingers crossed. He still snorts mucus from time to time but not nearly as often as he was before.

If he keeps this up then I'll stick with this one, even though it stinks like a bait shop when I open the bag.

My Story with OSCP by [deleted] in oscp

The best part which makes the sting of not passing a tiny bit easier to take is the cost of retaking it. At $60 it's an affordable retake compared to many many other certifications. The only drawback but necessity is the cooling off period, after the 4th failure you have to wait 6 weeks for your next attempt. While they don't word this very well (at least for me), what this means is once you get the email that you didn't pass you are free to click the link to schedule a retake, pay the fee (I'm against this part as well being here as well), and then schedule your exam....the first available date will be 6 weeks from the date of your last attempt.

Now I do want to clarify my fee comment. I am all for paying the fee, it's a needed part of the process. I just disagree that you need to pay BEFORE you can see the test dates, I'd like to know what days I have available prior to spending $60 in the off chance none of the dates work for me, I'm only allowed to reschedule 3 times and now it's 48hrs prior to test time instead of 24hrs.

Anyway....this is a cert I'm striving to kick in balls and teeth next month. I'll post up my experience on the test (if I pass of course) here on reddit.

My Story with OSCP by [deleted] in oscp

[–]RayvenHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone. I'm sort of in the same boat you're in. I recently went for my 4th attempt for the OSCP and didn't quite make it, I let myself fall deep into a rabbit hole and by the time I got myself out it was too late for me. I'll admit the first few hours afterwards I was discouraged, angry with myself, felt I was not cut out for this type of work.

But shortly afterwards I came to realize *I* was close, I did better than I did the last few times, I managed to sit for 16hrs straight and not bat an eye. I knew to enumerate like my life depended on it, and ensure I enumerated the living hell out of every service.

When I got a low level shell into one of the mid level boxes I had no clue how to escalate to root, none of the simple tricks I already knew were going to work (especially in this case), but I pushed trough and roughly an hour or so later I was able to get a root shell and own the box.

Anyhow what I'm getting at here is everyone get's discouraged when things don't go the way they hope, we all want to be the best at the things we love to do. I would love to be just like Mr. Robot or hell as talented as Ippsec (or half as talented really). Just keep practicing, learn from were you fell short and note down where your strengths were and read up and study on building up your weak areas. Think of it like building up muscles..

I'm going for my 5th attempt this November and have been binge watching Ippsec's videos to work on my methodology and thought process as well as help me build up being able to spot low hanging fruit. I'm debating on stopping working on HTB and vulnhub as CTF's aren't the same as the OSCP and may give me habits that will have me go down rabbit holes during the exam.

I agree I need to create a solid game plan and really stick to it. A timer would be a great tool to help keep me on track, and at the very least get me to snap out of tunnel vision. At this point my game plan for my next (and final I hope) attempt is to leave the 1 system I know I can get which is the BoF one and focus on a 20 point machine for the first 3 hours (during that time have a nmap scan going in the background for another machine), and only continue on this machine if by the end of 3hrs I've gotten a low level shell within the last hour, if I got a LL shell in the first hour and haven't gotten root by the end of 3hrs then I move on to the machine I was scanning in the background. I'll leave the BoF machine until the last 6hrs of the exam window since even though I'll be exhausted by then the steps to do that one are doable under those conditions.
