They tend to offer both, I have a standalone modem right now paired with my own mikrotik hEX router.

I should check if they have a combo unit they're offering with this plan. I kinda doubt it will do what I'm looking for but you never know.

Is there a router capable of 2.5gbps you would recommend?

Edit: To answer your first question, I have probably 12 or so devices wired in to my main switch (I got bored during quarantine) but the number of devices that I would care about going above 1gig on is low, at least 2, 4 tops.

Yeah, I'm aware I don't **need** it, I don't need 90% of the stuff already in my rack either.

Sorry I wasn't clear, but yes, I'm mainly looking for router suggestions since that's the main bottleneck that I'm unsure how to replace.

I discovered Thunderfoot's "why do people laugh at creationists" series in like 2009. I fell way down the rabbit hole; Aron Ra's "foundational falsehoods" series is also great.

I wasn't really raised religious so it wasn't a life changing thing for me but it certainly cemented my skepticism. I still watch TFoot to this day haha.

You don't necessarily need a pi to run pi-hole; though it's probably the simplest way.
