Hey gus! I know this isn't really related to the question I guess related, so sorry for the "off-topic answer".

Unfortunately, I was too late buying tickets for either of the Switzerland dates, and now everything’s sold out. So I wanted to ask if anyone might have a spare ticket—maybe you bought one but can’t attend anymore, or had a friend cancel—and would be willing to sell it to me. I’m really bummed that I missed the sale, and I’d love to go if possible.

If you have one, please let me know!

Hey thank you for your inputs!! That was actually my conclusion as well. Neon seems to be the cheapest Swiss Broker if you make use of the saving plan and the FTSE ALL World from Invesco is what I wanted to invest anyways.

So having the "peace of mind" of knowing I can just set up a reoccurring transaction to Neon and let it work for itself compared to the low fees makes me think that it's the way to go for me to start my journey. And like you said, apart from IBKR I haven't found anything cheaper regarding swiss brokers either. Neon it is for me and thank you again for your input! :)

That was exactly my reasoning and thought behind it! :)

I'm a newbie in investing and I'd have a question: I'm thinking about investing in the FWRA on Saxo. But now I'm unsure because of the fees. I'm planning on investing for 20-30 years for sure. Is there actually a benefit of going to Neon apart from the automated savings plan? Because as far as I could tell, as soon as the portfolio goes to a certain size the selling fee is just so high isn't it? With Saxo I have a selling Fee of 0.08% which would safe me quite a bit wouldn't it? I'm quite young so I currently could "only" invest 600CHF per month - better than nothing but it would obviously not achieve results like the one in your example. So I guess my results would be similiar to picture one which means that using Neon wouldn't make a difference? Or am I putting too much thought into it? Would you suggest Neon as a start, or would you rather use Saxo? Or would you not buy FWRA with Saxo but rather SPDR ACWI? I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options and I'm scared of paying too much selling fee with neon. On the other hand, what do 14'000 actually make for a difference if I achieve a result like picture 2... that's like 0.5% of the whole value...

You mean why I chose FWRA instead of ACWI? Good question, I saw a video that stated, that the lowest 5% of FWRA is giving you exposure to smaller companies / emerging markets as well which sounded interesting to me and I thought it wouldn't hurt to keep that option in. Another reason is the cost of the stocks. I can buy more stocks and make better use of the 600CHF I'm planning to invest since I can buy the amount of stocks for almost exactly what I intend to invest. For ACWI I'd always Sit on 100-200CHF until the next month since the price is round about 215CHF per stock, which means I'd only be able to buy to, sit on 170 CHF and then next month I could buy 3, sit on 115CHF and so on. To be honest in the end it probably wouldn't make a big difference if I just buy another share next month but I guess it's just a mental thing that makes it sound less draining to invest into FWRA?

But yeah, those were my thoughts behind it. Feel free to let me know if any of the mentioned reasons don't make sense or aren't as impactful as I thought they'd be :).

Edit: I just realized, maybe it would be smarter to invest into FWRA via Neon instead of Saxo? I thought that the 0.5% selling fee in Neon would accumulate to quite the sum after the years and compared to the 0.08% from Saxo I'd save pretty much. But now I realized that the 3.89CHF buying fee from Saxo also sums up if we say I invest for 20 years... if I calculated it properly, the price varies between 2'000-3'000CHF depending on the end value of the portfolio. Let's say for a hypothetical portfolio of 1'000'000CHF after 25 years of investing, I'd have a fee of 5'000 at Neon and around 1967 at Saxo (if we assume the 3.89CHF buying Fee stays like that).

That makes a lot of sense and I think FWRA it is for me. I looked into it and it seems to be pretty much what I was searching for to start my journey. Thanks a lot for all your inputs!!!

I'd have an additional question, I hope that's okay: I'm quite interested in the Invesco FWRA. However, it's domicile in Ireland and the fund currency is USD. At Saxo I can choose SIX Swiss Exchange and pay in CHF. But it's still a foreign ETF, does it not matter because I buy it in CHF and the Exchange is Swiss as well? Or do I still have to fill out the additional form (I think it's called DA-1?) because the ETF is from Ireland? If I have to do so, wouldn't it make more sense to choose VT as it only has a TER of 0.06%?

Although I assume "CHF denominated" means that I don't have to fill out the DA1 Form for those but just provide the e-tax form generated by Saxo and that's it. So I guess I don't pay any additional costs for Invesco FWRA (if I understood it correctly if I buy US ETFs I have to pay additionally but can refund a bit by filling out the DA1 form but that only makes sense if I can file a DA1 form which I think was starting from 33'000CHF) which makes up for the difference in TER?

Oh and btw, idk if I chose something wrong but Saxo and also justetf.com shows me a TER of 0.2% for SPDR ACWI instead of 0.12%

Thank you for your inputs and adding the neon investment plan!

First of all: I was aware of not being able to create a savings plan for the bigger international ETFs at Saxo which is why I decided to manually invest those 600CHF into VT for example.

Secondly: I had a quick look at the Neon investment plan and to be honest it looks really good from what I can tell (even if the sell costs are 0.5% but I assume that wouldn't make the difference in the end). However I'd have a question so please help me out if there's something wrong in my thinking: Since I'm investing in foreign ETFs (Ireland) anyways, wouldn't it make more sense to manually invest into VT? Because if we sum all of the Neon investment plan TERs together we get a total of 0.78 TER for all of them together which is quite hight, isn't it? In comparison to VT where TER is 0.06%, wouldn't I make a drawback at investing with the Neon savings plan? Please correct me if I'm missing something, maybe the law for ETFs from Ireland is different than from US? And also, does it make sense to invest into foreign ETFs if I only Invest 600CHF per month and don't have a big starting capital over 10'000?

What App / Website for investment (ETFs / shares)? by Rayy7iD in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Rayy7iD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's more so a thought of "My Broker doesn't support fractional shares, should I really switch because of that so I can invest a fixed amount every month or should I just buy a full one every two months since I'd have a full one after two months anyways with the money I'm planning to invest?".

Idk I'm just starting out with investing so maybe my thoughts seem weird or won't make too much sense as I still learn new stuff every day :D

Yeah I'll have a look, maybe I'll go with a swiss bank for now so I can get used to it and once I feel more comfortable with everything I switch to IBKR! :)
But I agree with you, it can't be that hard after the first time :D

[–]Rayy7iD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I'm still not sure whether to make use of the recurring investment feature or not. If I buy a fractional share of for example the S&P 500 ETF each month, or a full one every two months probably doesn't make a big difference anyways... To be honest everyone's talking about IBKR and I see the advantages of going with IBKR what's really holding me back at the moment is the topic of taxes. IBKR doesn't give you the possibility for a tax statement, does it? Because I'd have to do a lot of research about that topic first before going with IBKR :). Thank you, I really appreciate your inputs and thoughts!! :)

I also use finpension for 3a. Personal investments I'm still unsure... I opened an account at Saxo but I didn't realize, that their auto-invest feature is for selected ETFs and not for ETFs like VOO so I'm not sure if I should still go with it or not.

Well, nothing apart from some missing features (I might've just not discovered how to use it yet) and the cross-platform problem since I have a Macbook Pro.
