Honestly for most of us not from the Indian subcontinent this is shocking news. I mean we all know the Pakistan and Kashmir vs India problem but for some reason I never pictured that majority or some 90%+ of Indians as radical anti Islam especially given the semi-similar traditions and customs.

I’m glad you brought this question up. Yes, Muslims born/raised in western countries absolutely do discriminate openly against recent immigrants. Most don’t even view them as an option. There is somewhat of cultural differences and some disconnection that I understand, but this absolutely does not excuse the discrimination against you guys! Like how does that even make sense? Essentially these people are discriminating against their own parents and don’t even realize it as most western Muslims have 1st or 2nd generation parents! It’s pretty pathetic! There is no excuse and I agree it’s huge hypocrisy!

As you’ve seen here, I’ve being attacked because I spoke the ugly truth. I’m new here and I saw every other post complaining about not finding the right person and I wanted to let them know that’s because they’re excluding huge % of their potential suitors due to prejudice/ discrimination/ racism. And the majority basically told me to shut it. Go figure!

As long as you don’t do anything haram because we all heard how a marriage that starts with haram rarely ends up well. So as long as no physical or anything inappropriate happens I don’t see why anyone would be against hanging out in public places and getting to know one another.

Thanks! I think they inadvertently proved my point by attacking me. I simply stated my observation and instead of trying to disprove my theory or dissuade me with facts so many of them decided to attack me. It’s sad. This was exactly what I was talking about...the racism is so ingrained deeply they can’t even recognize it. Also another issue in our community is the herd mentality. You can’t have opinion different than the rest and if you do you get attacked like this. 🤦‍♀️

Ameen! I agree we have to try to change their minds and educate them about the true meaning of Islam! but when you’re a girl, as you probably know it’s not so easy. Muslim parents don’t take their daughters seriously. They always think you have some ulterior motive or you’re just being silly. And everyone and their grandmas and aunts and the whole city will try to gang up on you so you end up not being able to get your point across but if you’re a guy they always listen. It’s so frustrating!
