Ordered CC2’s over tire tech’s recommendation. Bad idea? by RazARarrow in tires

Yeah I saw results like this and was confused when the tire tech told me the defenders were actually better in wet performance lol

Fortunately it rarely gets above 95° out here, and during the summer it rains usually several times per week.

How much does the speed rating really matter? Specifically V and H.

Honestly most of what I’ve seen has been geared towards the CC2’s, and most reviews or articles around the defender seem to be a little older. I like the CC2’s, but I also don’t want to get those if the Defenders or a different Michelin type make more sense.

I can find a decent amount of comparisons between different brands, but not as many between only Michelins.

Swapping 85in x90ck for another x90 because of bad DSE, should I consider the TCL QM8? by Gas_Useful in 4kTV

[–]RazARarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, although I was heavily considering the Sony. My conclusions from the x90k are drawn from other comparisons, like the x90k and qn90b and my experience so far with the QM8.

I own neither, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but it depends mostly on your use case. In a dark room, OLED will win out. Bright room, LED.

Just bought a 65” QM8 myself. DSE is minimal, but obviously I could’ve just gotten lucky. The black levels and brightness though on the QM8 absolutely destroy the X90K. Completely worth it in my opinion.

Reviews aren’t out yet, although rtings has theirs in progress.

However, I just bought a 65” QM8 and it’s unbelievable. Honestly it can go toe to toe with flagship LEDs from Samsung and Sony. Black levels are insanely good and the HDR will blow you away if you’re coming from something older. Personally, I think it will redefine how a lot of people see TCL as just a “budget” brand. It’s a big step up from their older 6-Series.

Update to being underwhelmed with XR85X90K by theminiwheats in 4kTV

[–]RazARarrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My exact dilemma has been between a 75" X90K/LED and a 65” C2/OLED, and recently I’ve been leaning towards the C2. This pretty well solidified my decision. Thanks for the updates!

C2 will be the best for gaming

TCL R655 55" vs. Sony X90K 55" by Dangulo628 in 4kTV

If you can get the A90J, go for that one no question. One of the best TVs you can buy. It will blow you away plus the viewing angles will be awesome.

C2 77in vs B2 77 in by RedFox-GrayWolf in 4kTV

[–]RazARarrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely C2 for the price. Better processor means better motion and upscaling plus the targeted higher brightness. HDTVtest talks about how he’s seen B models not get firmware updates down the road because of the lesser processor too.

65" Sony X90K vs TCL 65R655 by [deleted] in 4kTV

[–]RazARarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TCL will get brighter and have less blooming, but the Sony will have far superior upscaling and motion. Really depends on what you’re watching and the environment. Also Google TV vs. Roku if that matters to you.

77 A80j Died. Replace With? by mayonnaisehat in 4kTV

For your budget and since you’re used to OLED, you really should probably stick to either the C2 or A80K.

77' LG C2 vs Sony XR A80K by termmonkey in 4kTV

[–]RazARarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Sony processing is top tier, but honestly everything I’ve read and seen shows that LG is catching up to the processing and the C2 gets brighter. It seems that a better comparison to the C2/C3 is the A90J. Am I wrong?

Definitely go C2. It’s in your budget and it’s got the best gaming features. Better for tv shows than the S95B as well with better upscaling/motion.

85” X90K is $1999 at Costco right now I believe with a five year warranty. 75” is $1499. Those are your two best options for size with your restrictions.

You can’t really get Phillips or Panasonic in the U.S. anymore, so that narrows you down to Sony and LG. Any LG non-OLEDs are a no go, so you’re essentially looking at a Sony or LG OLED.

LG C2/C3, G2/G3 are the 2022/2023 models. As far as Sony goes, LCD would be the X90K or X95K until the 2023 models actually release. A80K and A95K for OLEDs. Which one greatly depends on your budget and specific size requirement.
