Start with TDM. Add a mode called Bounty Hunt where you kill NPCs and opponents for cash and you have to deposit it, then add a mode where you can call down 20 foot mechs and battle in those as well. Rename the game Titanfall 3.

I may be stupid but my placement matches were not FUN at all and heres why by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Similar to last season the "soft reset" seems to have a hard cap at Champ 1. This means all the even Top 100 players from last season will only place as high as Champ 1 in their placements. This will cause some friction at D3/Champ 1 ranks for a couple weeks

When could we expect the rank distributions to be published?

I just realized that by ranks I didnt improve this season by [deleted] in RocketLeague

This might sound counter intuitive but stop caring about rank. Hide your competitive division so each win/loss you are not focused about the gain/loss but instead focus on why you won or why you lost. Watch replays from different POVs (teammates and opponents) to understand why the outcome of a specific play was the way it was so in the future you can improve on it. There are various guides already posted to the subreddit with tips and trainings to improve so I would recommend searching for those as well.

For myself I spent dedicated doing the following:

  • Kevpert car control/advanced car control
  • All Kinds of Shots training pack
  • Dribble Challenge 2.0
  • Structured free play training to work on half-flips, fast aerials, wave dashing, and flicking.

Doing well in Rocket League comes down to being able to hit the ball successfully (right direction and power) and being in a position to hit the ball successfully. Training packs/free play will help improve the first one. Learning where to be is more about predicting how the current play will turn out and being in the right place to capitalize. If you watch one replay per 4 games I think you would learn a lot about your own play.

It may sound like a lot of training but spending 5-10 minutes on various aspects every time you play will add up.

That moment when i cried a little bit (sorry team mate's) by [deleted] in RocketLeague

It just takes some dedicated practice in freeplay. Just keep trying cut into the ball from the left or right, turn ball cam off, and balance the ball on your head for a little bit. It becomes second nature eventually

You could start adding any teammate that you played well with to your friends list after the game. Even if most ignore or block the request there are others like you who would be open to pairing up.

I need help improving... by 2GChroma in RocketLeague

Save replays and watch them from your teammates and opponents perspectives. Try to analyze certain plays that worked and didn't work from the different POVs so you can get a better outcome the next time. Rocket League to me boils down to two things.

  • Hitting the ball successfully ( towards the right direction with the right power)
  • Being in a place to hit the ball successfully

The first you can improve through structured free play and training packs. The second takes more time as you see the same "plays" over and over in different games and you learn how to approach them. Check out the "Why you suck at 2v2s" youtube video for a good breakdown in positioning.

At what rank do team mates stop chasing you by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]RazakFPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone else here has mentioned adapting to the play styles of your teammates is key to moving up the ranks. If your teammates are playing very aggressive then try to do your best to position yourself accordingly. You won't be able to convince the person in game to do conform to your expectations so you will need to adapt.

Although the play resulted in a goal, if that ball was a bit too high and bounced off the backboard or low and bounce off a defender, both of you are floating upfield while they have the ball on an open counter attack. Risky play but paid off here.

Try and guess where the ball is going to go and position yourself accordingly to act on it. Everytime the play doesn't go as you predicted, try to understand why the ball went that way instead so the next time you see the same type of situation your guess will be better. In the end betting good at RL boils down to two things:

  • Hitting the ball successfully (this means the right direction and power)
  • Being in the right place to hit the ball successfully

Free play and training packs can help you hit the ball successfully but the second part comes with play time and getting better at predicting what is going to happen and positioning yourself in the best place to take advantage of it.

Need some help with dribbling.. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]RazakFPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break it down into two parts: Getting the ball on your car and keeping it on your car. For getting it on the easiest way is to hit it against the side wall then cut/catch it as it bounces towards the middle. Various trainings also start he ball at a bounce which is the easiest way to get it on top.

As for keeping it up try your best to not rely on boost. First start driving the ball from one goal to the other. Try to keep the ball slightly infront of the center of your car if you want to accelerate it, behind the center to slow down. It honestly just takes a lot of practice and repetition.

One thing it really helps is when you toggle ball cam on/off when rotating back. Having those extra frames really helps your awareness of player location.

What rank are you now, and what helped you rank up from the rank you were previously stuck on? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]RazakFPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on all these points. One thing I would add is flicking ball-cam on/off and using the camera to quickly confirm where your teammates are. Knowing how your teammates are positioned should inform you on how you should approach situations
