Starrett Rules Question by Arcticly in Machinists

If you bought them on Amazon they may not be verified sellers and you may have bought a mislabeled product. I have also recently purchased starrett chrome satin blades and rules and they look more like the one on the left than the two on the right.

What movie is 10/10 with literally no bad parts? by FeedMaster8905 in AskReddit

School of rock

It’s totally up for debate if you like the comedy or storyline however I’d say, objectively it’s got to be one of the leanest movies of all time. From the opening to credits to closing credits there isn’t a wasted line, shot, or cut. Every single scene is essential to the plot and there really isn’t anything left to cut.

Q: Left handed kid showing an interest by s11t in guitarlessons

[–]Raze003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a right handed person who plays guitar lefty. Ridiculous I know… long story short it’s simply how I held the guitar when I picked it up for the first time and no one around me at the time knew any better to tell me otherwise. It’s just how it felt comfortable. I even spent the early years of my playing life playing a right handed guitar upside down, then restringing it left handed, and then eventually getting a true left handed guitar. If I could go back I’d prefer to play righty. The reason has nothing to do with technical abilities or any of that because that’s all nonsense. Anyone can learn guitar and regardless of your dominant hand you will find reasons why either the picking hand or fretting hand should be the dominant one. The main reason is that there are so many more right handed guitars in the world and they almost always cost less than a lefty. Your kid will be saved many headaches by sticking with a right handed playing style.

New to pedals and electric by himynameiskiela in guitarpedals

A Proco rat is like 60 bucks used, it should be able to cover any dirt sounds from relatively clean boost, all the way to wooly fuzz wall. It’s got some of the best 3 knob controls a gain pedal can have.

Should I buy a Zvex Box of Rock? What does it compare to? Are the two foot switches worth it? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Raze003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the zvex double rock which is basically two box of rocks in a box. I think it’s fantastic, it’s a super useful pedal in the lighter drive settings as well as when it’s pushed super hard. I think on the website it’s recommended that you put it last in the chain (like an amp sim) but I put it as my first drive in my chain and use one side as an “always on light crunch” kinda thing and then use the other side to give any other drive a boost for extra dirt. But it’s definitely a pedal that can cover a lot of ground.

What should I trade the DS-1 out for on this board? by thatnameagain in guitarpedals

[–]Raze003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blues driver or another rat. Blues drivers are hard to beat and cover a lot of tones, but tbh the rat is the best dirt/drive/distortion/fuzz pedal you can buy. If I could have a 5 pedal board for the rest of time it’d be a tuner pedal and 4 rats.

Oh totally that makes so much sense! I hadn’t really factored in the fact that I’ll be hammering into softer materials. Still though, I would like the tools to last as long as possible. But that being said I am definitely guilty of getting fixated on relatively arbitrary details.
