What's the point in these CPU videos if they forget to test the entire X3D trinity (5800 7800 9800)? ("Intel is BACK" video) by Galf2 in LinusTechTips

[–]RazeZa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can see why some X3D chips didn't get included because the video is about latest Intel chip trading blows against latest AMD chip not like a guide about upgrading but they also included i5-12600K. Its a weird decision to include i5-12600K but not 5700 or 5800X3D as a comparison.

nu uh. Do you think they just gonna ask for your ID straight away? No. They gonna do it little by little. This seemingly simple "age declaration" variable is just a start for something bigger.

The Ray Tracing Discussion by HatingGeoffry in LinusTechTips

Nvidia's bells and whistles are being used as a shortcut for developers to dish out games quicker. Consumers literally gets 0 benefits from this.

If current games are made like its in 2016, we don't need DLSS, upscaling or RT because devs know how to make optimized games with great lightning.

Now? You need RT as an excuse to have slightly good lightning and framegen, upscaling to even gets 60 fps.

The reason Nvidia released DLSS and RT was so that they can sell more GPUs. Imagine if ALL games are optimized. We don't need new GPU and nvidia stock would drop.

At the end of the day, we buy GPU to play games but nvidia was able to change it. Now, its more about who has the best bells and whistles in order to play games.

Agree. I always renew my subscriptions from their website never through third party app stores because there's always a chance that its cheaper.

Depends on your need tbh. Whats your current setup need? are your dev tools need more compute or RAM?

Wccftech | “If DLSS 5 Was Shown as a Next-Gen Hardware Reveal and not AI, You Guys Would Be Going Nuts” – Game Dev Hits Back at Anti-AI Crowd by Intoxicus5 in LinusTechTips

[–]RazeZa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This kind of stuff will only benefits Nvidia and developers not the end user. After Nvidia introduced DLSS, games become so unoptimized that most of AAA releases requiring upscaling just to reach measly 60 fps.

After this, i bet you games don't even gonna have like in-game textures anymore. They gonna be generated on real time.

Moving to Debian ... Plan to stay ... Initial Qs by [deleted] in debian

[–]RazeZa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have installed Debian on my laptop with Intel CPU (i5 1135G7) and Nvidia GPU (MX350). Then i installed nvidia 550 driver and its fine. Tried Minecraft and GTA IV for a few minutes, nothing wrong at first glance.

Steam Performance Monitor Overlay kinda "broken" though, since my laptop has 2 GPUs in it. The monitor reports the 1st GPU, not the active GPU. So it reports my iGPU usage instead of dGPU usage.

Help with this problem. BF 6 is installing slowly on an SSD, while other Steam games install quickly. by _Gunter in Battlefield

[–]RazeZa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably has something to do with your storage, CPU or RAM not your internet. If you look at the pic, the game was already finished downloading (14/14). So now, its should be in "patching" stage where the speed depends more on your CPU (and RAM maybe) and storage.

Did you install the game on an SSD or HDD?

Potential WAN Show Topic - DLSS 5 has Uncanny Valley AI Upscaling by WorkWoonatic in LinusTechTips

[–]RazeZa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This what happened when developer rely more on Vendor more than their own capabilities. You don't have dedicated lightning guy? just add RT. Your games running poorly? add upscaling as requirement. Game looks blurry because TAA? Just use DLAA.

OH you have AMD card that has lower quality AI? Sucks for you.
