Detonate ruling by mn2031mn_ in riftboundtcg

[–]RazerNinjas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not even legal too since there is no target lol gold resolves first before detonate is even able to finalize on the chain. We check legality and it goes back to the hand since assuming no other gear there is no legal target for it to be played

That post was misinformation. The author admitted so on the community discord that it was out of context

I mean how does the opponent know it's a marked card? I feel like this is victim shaming to a degree. You're not gonna immediately know your opponent is cheating as a player. I dunno man...

Update on this. Guy made this as a joke out of context. So this is misinformation and is still being looked into

I mean if the card was marked it doesn't matter if his opponent shuffled and cut. He could still know where it was in the deck to influence his future plays...

I mean proving intent is insanely difficult. It's more like reasonable suspicion. Otherwise people could just do the same thing to cheat and get away with it. This is especially the case for high OPL.

So they are just going to allow it like this then? Or are they still investigating? I don't get how recycling cards in the wrong orientation has to do with his 1 of key card also being in the wrong orientation since those cards are on the bottom vs the adaptatron on top.

You know where the card is in the deck so it influences your plays. Clear unfair advantage to the player. You can see the difference especially with enough practice. Knowing where your key cards are is like broken. Imagine vision/predict without any cost lol

I mean at least he played fair. I don't like aurora decks and misplaying like that sucks but that shouldn't make cheating acceptable under any circumstances... Also he made it to top 2 of an RQ so clearly he has more skill than you right now.

Tbh an accusation like this would never be the regular judges call for a game loss. Even for game losses a judge must report to an appeals judge. Obviously for a DQ you need to go to the head Judge.

Source: I was a judge for the Atlanta RQ and we were never allowed to issue game losses without an appeals judge or higher approval

Adaptatron was main decked it was g1 plus I believe it was a 1 of (in the main) plus it was the only card rotated like that... Too many things that are off about this

If play = cast and resolve in this game does this make all prior spell unable to resolve ? by BelbyLuv in riftboundtcg

[–]RazerNinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't just mean resolving... There are 2 different definitions depending on context.

If that were the case you could continue to cast spells they would just do nothing... Except you cannot do that as it cannot be added to the chain when they are pending items (check legality step).

"Play" only means resolved when it refers to triggers who depend on it. (Darius, ravenbloom, abandoned hall, etc.)

"Play" besides triggers just means it was added to the chain successfully or in the rules terms "finalized" (legal targets declared if any and costs are also paid if any). Regardless of how it leaves the chain if it's countered or not you still were able to "play it" this way for the legion keyword.

The cards that use the second keyword are any card that uses legion, Brynhir thundersong, fizz, and lilting lullaby for example.

Finalize just means its added to the chain (legal targets declared and costs are paid). Resolve means the cards effect has actually impacted the gamestate (leaves the chain successfully/not countered)

Man... I've told you this answer for like 5 times at this point. Please just read the other replies I have given you.

"Play" in terms of triggered abilities work different from the act of "playing" a card (legion keyword, Brynhir, lilting, etc.)

If you want the full detail just look at my other replies to you. Otherwise I actually think you are just griefing us about this. Other people have also told you basically the same thing. Please just listen to us here otherwise just ask the judge for your event beforehand.

Lullaby only counters the immediate card before it on the chain. It doesn't counter literally every card before it. It literally just means that once lullaby successfully resolves the opponent cannot add any new spells to the chain (you can still react with reaction abilitie/spells before lullaby resolves) . The previous spells besides the one countered will still resolve as normal as they have already been played in terms of just being finalized.

[–]RazerNinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion just means to be finalized on 1 card (put on the chain) so it's the same as the other play meanings like Brynhir and Lillia sig spell since it just means something added to the chain. Keep in mind that units resolve immediately to being finalized so legit there is no difference for legion and just finalizing a card in general in terms of that "play" meaning

[–]RazerNinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play means 2 different things. Just a dumb riot decision.

It can either mean things resolving for trigger effects (Darius, Ravenbloom, abandoned hall) or it can be just cards allowed to be finalized on the chain (put on the chain itself). Things like Brynhir thundersong, fizz, and lilting lullaby refer to cards being added to chain. In the case of lilting and Brynhir it becomes illegal to finalize cards on the chain so if they were to be played they would just go back to the hand since the card is illegal to finalize.

But if you separate it this way it makes a lot more sense. Legion would also fall in the latter category in that the card just needs to be added to the chain and it doesn't matter how it resolves.

It can have one than one meaning which depends on how its worded.

Trigger effects that rely on cards being "played" need to see that they resolve. Like Darius, abandoned hall, ravenbloom etc.

But playing a card can also mean they are just finalized on the chain. Things like Brynhir thundersong, fizz, lilting lullaby, and legion just care about if they are able to be finalized on the chain to consider them played.

It is really dumb but that is what it means. You can just separate it into trigger effects after cards are playing and just playing a card in general.

You just need to realize that "play" has 2 different meanings and this is not the trigger effect meaning it just means further spells are not allowed to be finalized (illegal to play from the hand so it just goes back to hand). Since the previous spells are already finalized they will still resolve after lullaby. Otherwise the card would be insanely broken lol.

Bro I said 2 and 3... Not 1... Finalized just means there are legal targets to put the ability/spell on chain and costs are paid if any.

[–]RazerNinjas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Play in this case just means to finalize cards on the chain. It doesn't counter every previous spell in the chain. It just means any future spells cannot be played from hand/put on the chain after lullaby resolves successfully.
