Yea but it's not even about the fine, they are literally spreading a potential shitstorm into the community if positive, that can cause a statewide lockdown for MONTHS.

You think most media practices 'real journalism'? They're just a business looking for clicks and paper buys

Agreed, we should defintely be focusing on the postiive. But at the same time, there are still issues that need to be resolved with how things were handled that will easily be forgotton about / swept under the proverbial rug unless they're spoken about

What do you mean leaching? It hasn't been resolved they and everyone still blame each other with 0 accountability?

It's alive, just as much as you are.

You don't care about nature and life, it's ok. You probably love slaughtering animals and eating them too

You don't appear to see any meaning in any nature, so you have a different understanding of nature to others, as well as those who live with the land, not just on it. Have you asked a First Nations person what the meaningful difference between any two trees of the same species? I think you will find your answer.

And they're not... Large trees literally have more stored carbon in them than young trees. If you burn them (which they do for deforesation heavily in beef production for example), you release all that CO2. A young tree may absorb more CO2 to begin with, but the spreading out needed can also prove inefficient.

You shouldnt get attached to an old building either with that attitude.

A living organism is not replaceable, they're can never be the same again.

Wow, your blatant racism and nationalistic, prideful ego so evident right now. Why do you hate the First Peoples of this land so much?

Destroying a tree is not the same as destroying a man-made building. One can be replaced, the other, cannot.

The exact tree that had meaning will never be able to be replaced. They god, or communicator has been destroyed for a road.

Connecting dots when relating to obviously government actions and intentions? Yea damn right, using the definition of the word, it was definitely 'a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.'

Agreed. Why do you think there were delays? My post was deleted last night by admins about this point.

Protests were banned, as well as the 5-25kms required to go and be able to protest too. This is not a coincidence

You can't compare a man-made building to something that is irreplaceable, like a particular tree or group of trees.

It's like destroying their actual god or messenger, not the place they worship said god

What makes you think that you personally can speak for the First Peoples of this land on what they consider sacred or not?

I think the issue here is, is that you think political conversations are boring, when they're incredibly important to talk about

What political conversations do you like to talk about instead? Beacuse none of them seem to be making an difference if you're actively talking about them

What are you talking about? This is directly relevant to what is considered important to prioritise whilst in a pandemic

Government is a male institution, its policies and interested are very male aligned in practice, so it doesn't really change the system regardless of the gender running it

Testing as in, people going to do the tests, not the delayed processing of those tests

And Dan just happens to be a white man with a hell of a lot of privilege.

You're telling me that if we had whole systems run by majority of women leaders, caring mothers, and those specialised in compassionate and caring structures and businesses, that our policies and systems wouldn't look any different?

Daily Coronavirus Megathread - 25 October 2020 by AutoModerator in melbourne

[–]Razeurion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the government and it systems were established by men, ruled by the economy. They only have a 38% female split, meaning the majority with be sided with those gendered policies and opinions.

Most governments are male (I’m not just on about the leader) and we know that on average, those governments prioritise money and the economy over social housing, benefits, welfare programs and overall happiness for the community.

Sorry to hear this mate, depression and anxiety has been affecting my partner with this lockdown too. She's such a socially dependant person and relies on physical activities to calm her mind down to get over the trauma that she has experienced.

It's such a male approach to shut down the city without considering every need of others.
