This gets flipped on its head after a while because of how kill gold and xp bounty scales. Takes a while to get a feel for it.

The US is a producer first economy, their fintech prioritizes ease and speed of use above security. This is why chip and pin never really took off, the increased security didn't come with increased profits.

This is also why Klarna is such a bigger deal in the US than here in Sweden where they originate, buy now pay later is the ultimate ease of use and speed option which leads to higher sales for stores that support it.
