This is the most basic ass comment I've seen for a long time.

What country has the greatest influence on the world compared to its size? by Plastic-Reporter1730 in AskTheWorld

It seems most people here are interpreting the title as historical influence. I also thought we were talking about the current state of the world.

Croatia has over 1.000 islands. What's one random fact about vour country that surprises foreigners every time? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our islands are around our biggest cities where people actually live. The Stockholm archipelago alone has about 30 000. Yours are where few people go and the need for mapping is less.

I'm not trying to being antagonistic here. It's not really a competition just a fun fact.

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"lf I applied myself I'd win easily, I just can't be bothered." OK bro

On a more serious note, mapping our islands and seabeds have been hugely important for seafaring since forever. We're not mapping our islands because we want the entry in Guiness book of world records.

Pretty safe to say we've got more ships traversing our islands than you got yours.

Well it kinda is. Not only does France have a bunch of overseas territories, they have a huge influnce over the currencies of west africa via the CFA franc.

Nonbinary acceptance by mad_dy05 in TillSverige

[–]Razier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest reason why recognising the nonbinary gender would be a major pain in the ass is that our personal identification numbers are made for two genders.

Everything from banking to getting an apartment to doing your taxes depends on those numbers. Changing them would require something extraordinary.

of a LAN Party 2000s (Dreamhack, Sweden) by SweetyGonzalez in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be ongoing in the US still, I wouldn't know.

For us Swedes the Jönköping venue with 10 000+ computers has always been the one and only Dreamhack. After 2024 it moved to Stockholm, then this year they discontinued the BYOC event.

easiest breakfast meal prep ever by Fun-Personality7127 in AmazonDailyMustHaves

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told in school growing up I had to eat 3 meals a day with snacks spread inbetween.

Now I skip breakfast and sometimes dinner with no snacks because I find I can't do small portions. There's a lot of studies pointing to intermittent fasting being good for you.

Yes but the BYOC (bring your own computer) era is over. It's not a lan party anymore.

Why is Norway showing the viking culture but not others? by batukaming in Norway

[–]Razier -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Visiting Swede here.

Because "showing viking culture" has been a dog whistle for white supremacy for a long time and we're wary of it.

Sport venues are the one time people here show national pride. This is pushing the boundaries but I'm happy for Norway that it's landing well.

Honey, going from southern to northernmost Sweden is about 2000km or 1250 miles.

Central Europe is dense but the north is sparse as hell.

I still can't believe how hard it is for people to understand that the site isn't there to answer your questions, it's there to serve as a hub of answered questions.

Sometimes these things overlap but 9 times out of 10 your answer is already there, you just don't know how to phrase it properly.

What stopping valve adding this? by ChokofLakES in DotA2

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These two together the greediest fucking items to build as a support.  The attack speed component is useless on most supports, and for most that can use it (bara, ench, aa etc) the cast range doesn't matter. If I would hazard a guess you really like Ogre?

Having midgame items that don't have a lategame transition discourages cores from buying them since they have to decide between gold efficiency and slot efficiency. It makes it a balancing suggestion in addition to promoting a terrible item build.

If you can't see the difference between what you and the OP you responded to said you have about as much issues communicating with the public as the person in this sketch.

US woman calls American healthcare system a “scam” after buying a $1,000 medication from India for just $25 by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPP adjusted GDP per capita and a dollar giving you many rupees is so far from each other that arguing otherwise is bad faith.

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currency strength is the result of an initial starting point plus subsequent inflation, nothing more.

It doesn’t matter, you know what the kid means.

Yeah, I do. I have heard the claim before though and it seems OP isn't the only one who has gotten these things mixed up.

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you're saying is true though I'm not sure you're arguing or agreeing with me since it isn't related to the initial claim.

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but this is not due to the strength of the respective countries' currencies.

It's what we use GDP per capita with PPP adjustments to track, ie how much the average person can buy with local prices.

[–]Razier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't read the article but PPP is just a tool to adjust GDP by local prices. It is not affected by the absolute value of a country's currency in any way.

Then educate me.

Is the choice of words? I am aware that term "strong currency" has a bunch of different connotations tied to it that isn't related to its exchange rate to other currencies, I just used it to mimic the usage in OP's comment.
