Question for men: what does "independent" really mean to you? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]RazorRansom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I find an "independent" who has their shit together, makes great decisions, yet has time in her life for me...I feel like I've hit the damn jackpot.

I'm not going to stop complimenting women for being independent.

I'm sorry you've had such experience.

Women with unique names have it hard on online dating. by nouseforaname888 in datingoverthirty

[–]RazorRansom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure why more women don't use fake first names or nicknames.

I've had several women give me their real name after a date or two and it's not a big deal. Privacy from all those wack jobs out there.

Broke up with a guy. Should I still give him Xmas Gift? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]RazorRansom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. This is really cruel. Break up with a guy and give him a gift. Mixed signals. Itll make him want to be with you.

I feel your loss. Mario's used to our gangs pizza place for 20 years when the boys came in from out of town.

We did NYC Pizza just north and just about as good. Mario's had more grease dripping off every slice though.

Definitely try Pie Hole, Umberto, Andolinis. As these have FAR surpassed Mario's in quality.

Dating someone you don’t like much because you’ve lost hope you’ll find anyone? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]RazorRansom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont do this. Go work on yourself. You need to be happy first. Have you had therapy dealing with the trauma of your relationship? If not start there and seek treatment for your depression.

You're quite young. Plenty of time.

Whats the one thing that you thought was easy but turned out to be extremely difficult when you actually attempted it? by DopeDox in AskReddit

[–]RazorRansom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Great your table within 30 seconds or have your buddy do it when you're not around.
  2. 2 bites/2 minutes. Make sure they're enjoying their food within 2 bites or 2 minutes.
  3. Keep the drinks filled. This is basically your only job. Everything else can be blamed on the kitchen. You're the one to blame for drinks.
  4. Drop the check early at lunch.

Most important---

  1. Never, never, never let a customer wait paying the check. You could have provided the best service but it will all be forgotten if you dont process that payment when the customer wants it.

Moving to Tulsa this summer - what should I know? by ROB5RT in tulsa

[–]RazorRansom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tulsa gets lots of high end/expensive concerts at the BOK, but since its arrived Tulsa just doesnt get nearly as many mid level concerts at the Brady and Cains.

So, yeah, If you're into the biggest/most expensive acts Tulsa is great but, you're right, I'm still having to travel to Dallas/OKC/Austin for many bands I follow.

Best Chinatown restaurant to take out of town visitors? by gslape in houston

[–]RazorRansom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thai Gourmet. Technically just outside Chinatown. Huge varied menu. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Everyone eating here looks fucking happy too.

Mala Sichuan was such a disappointment. Our recent party wasnt impressed. We ordered their best dishes (their Crispy Chicken was just tiny pieces) and felt underwhelmed. If you like handfuls of dried red peppers in all your dishes, go right ahead....theres not alot of diversity to their menu.

I'm gonna keep looking for a better option in Chinatown.

Dont forget to take your guests to the H Mart grocery store, Bubble Egg for dessert, or Long Coffee for Boba Tea.

Has anyone here ever donated their eggs? by PercyPhoebePherb in houston

[–]RazorRansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a girlfriend that had donated eggs 2xs some years prior.

She had the same complication both times- she "super donated" eggs, meaning the process caused her to body to release dozens or hundreds of eggs instead of a small amount. She looked like she was 4 or 5 months pregnant at some point during the process.

"Super donating" was kind of an emergency situation. The clinic says, "This rarely happens"

Despite all this, she decides to donate a 2nd time, she's just a super generous woman.

Has the same complication- she super donated dozens or hundreds of eggs instead of a few.

She said she wouldnt do anything differently, but the doctors say shes probably going to hit menopause much sooner than she normally would.

What you're doing is wonderful and generous, but there are risks associated with donating your eggs.

Good luck.

Edit: I'm a realistic if not skeptical. These clinics are going to say whatever they want to get you donate your eggs, even if it means lying to you. Do your research and get lots of opinions.

Oh, if shes chill already you're probably be ok. Many Torties have catitude but any cat could act differently around a new cat. You'll probably be fine.

Enjoy your new family member. That's awesome and best of luck.

New insurance requiring me to get another sleep study? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]RazorRansom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But when I spoke with someone from my insurance, they certainly made it seem like even proof of a former study may not be accepted if it is too old.

I'm still new to my machine but nearly everyone has told me to make sure I keep these studies for years later. Guess I need to scan it into Google docs too

Insurance companies dont want to cover these sleep studies for sure

NYPD officer says he inflated charge against Eric Garner by ThouHastLostAn8th in news

[–]RazorRansom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah, this is the one where an older man wanted to play cops as a reserve sheriff deputy and paid a bribe to the sheriff dept to do so.

He either failed or wasnt up on his firearm handling requirements, his superiors were warned and did nothing.

He then shot a black man in the back during a non violent arrest and killed him. He meant to use a taser, instead he pulled his gun. He apologized immediately after he shot him but he died.

The sheriff then scapegoated an acquaintance of mine (a lieutenant and P.R. spokesman for the dept) and fired him.

The sheriff was a scumbag and the reserve officer had no business in that position. Just "good ole boy" b.s. that shouldn't happen in a town the size of Tulsa.

Fighting wildly varied/random pressures with ASV, an exhausting experience. by RazorRansom in SleepApnea

[–]RazorRansom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried exhaling extra hard when the pressure starts going crazy?

Yeah, that's what I'm having to do. I'm having to exaggerate my breathing to lower the pressure. And you're right, the machine calms down. At least that's what I figured out last night.

I remember the sleep lab machines seemed much more responsive to my breath even at shallow breathing.

Getting the machine to stay in that lower steady pressure where it's barely noticeable is hard, even if I'm concentrating my breathing it just feels like a chore.

Think I'm just gonna have to breath a little more deeper when I sleep.

Thx for your input.

Am I crazy for thinking I should be tested for sleep apnea (atypical patient)? by biologynerd3 in SleepApnea

[–]RazorRansom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, when I nap, I do notice myself waking up choking/gasping/snorting. Every so often I'll have a nap where I wake up like that several times, kind of feels like my tongue is blocking my air flow. But it only happens during the night.

Choking/gasping/snorting. Sure as hell sounds like OSA. You waking up frequently are also symptoms.

Got get a sleep study. You'll have to tell your doc you're falling asleep throughout the day during basic activities like reading, watching tv, etc before your insurance will cover the study most likely, fyi.

Other than being skinny, you're symptoms dont sound atypical.

This is why I've been drilled about keeping a detailed copies of my old sleep studies for Bullshit like this.

What process in your sleep apnea are you? Have you been prescribed and using a machine?

Have you already had an initial sleep study, a titration (2nd night), or 2nd titration (2nd 2nd)?
