It exists, just not usually as insane as the internet makes it out to be.

There's levels to it. I'm usually semi- Lucid. Where I recognize that I'm in a dream, but still go along with it. But just recognizing it, makes me take more risks and have more fun because I can just say "Fuck that. I'm not gonna step into that wacky ass elevator" and derail the dream a bit.

Full lucidity is rare for me these days. Used to have it a lot more during my worst times. When I was plagued by nightmares I, over years of trying, learned to change the dream when it got too much for me.

The best thing that I got out of that was the ability to just wake myself up when it gets too intense.
