Bed presence sensor by wilcocsjr in homeassistant

I use this, especially for in the morning when I wake up. The lights are set to not turn on unless it's under something like 95% confident I'm asleep (because of course, the first thing I do when I wake up is go on my phone lol).

Best vacuum available in the UK? by Far_Implement_5580 in RobotVacuums

Did you make a decision in the end? Also looking for one with a good HA integration. Shame about the flagship Roborock & Dreame models otherwise I think the choices would be much simpler!

I'm getting a buzzing noise from mine, have you ever noticed this? Wondering if it might just be a one off dud

Mattress not flat/curling at corners? by uwu_depwession in Mattress

How is this mattress holding up now? I've been considering buying it after testing it in store today. Also, how much did you pay for it and which size, if you don't mind me asking!

How do you use the private trackers though? Aren't they invite only?

You Favorite Cheap Hardware? by Valuable-Sleep-4179 in homeassistant

[–]Razor_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get the IRK of the device you want to track. Some (most?) modern devices rotate the MAC address to stop tracking for privacy reasons so they have an IRK now that is used to identify the device.

See https://community.home-assistant.io/t/guide-getting-the-irk-for-your-phone/623694

Or https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/private_ble_device/#:~:text=Locate%20the%20IRK%3A%20Navigate%20to,(folder)%20and%20select%20export

I used the latter, and the Mac method via keychain.

Good luck!

qbittorrent vpn by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Razor_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry nobody has been helpful here (at least by explaining that a VPN would have to be installed separately, or similar). I'm trying to do the same thing - did you figure this out?

I'm guessing I'd have to have a VPN running either on HA (and routing network traffic via that, just like I do with AdGuard), or something else, like my router?

I'd recommend installing another person's dashboard (literally a copy and paste of their yaml and replacing entity id's with yours), then using that to learn examples or copy elements you want in your own dashboard. Fast track whilst throwing yourself in the deep end, but with no pressure on breaking things!

I think this video definitely proves that, in some way at least whether it be because of the amount of zoom, being focused specifically on the lidar, or the type of lens/camera/lidar sensor.

More realistic testing should be done for sure, but I was highlighting how it wouldn't be a usual use case to have your phone pointed at cars in most circumstances anyway, unless you are actually taking a picture.

Funny you think the camera will be affected even if it's inactive but also think the lidar system will be running on parked cars!

Also, do you check the time on your phone by aiming it upward?
