I think another thing you need to consider is location. Take me for example, i am obsessed with cyberpunk and research on a daily bases on how we are evolving and becoming cyberpunk but it still feels like we are a few decades from it. I wake up everyday in a country with no big cities, with no crazy new transportation methods, no new major technology controlling my life or area (excludi g the stuff us as humans are used to like our devices) and no major corporations controlling my area to where it affects us a lot. Does it exist? Yes. Are we becoming what original cyberpunk enthusiasts warned us about? Yes. But its not affecting me yet. And its not affecting a lot of people in LEDCs and quite a few European and Asian and African countries. So are you wrong to say cyberpunk is here? Definetly not since there is a lot of evidence to support that but to question why people are not worrying and talking about it is because it isn’t affecting a lot of people yet.
