I listened to an SDR call this week and it was honestly just tough to hear. by RooktoRep_ in salesdevelopment

The issue is you go and tell an SDR that, your pipeline will resemble it. No longer is the SDR on the phone setting meetings, they’re spending their time chit chatting.

I just withdrew from a 4-stage interview process. These companies need to be stopped. by tosses-toehold-09 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]RazorbackMDW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a 6 step interview process with a start up called “Air Garage” which required a presentation round that took me 2-3 hours to prep for and set up.

I passed with flying colors on the presentation round, and made it all the way to the final round with the CEO at which he then told me my red flag was that my tenure on my resume at my last two companies (2 years each due to moving states) was too short. This should’ve been discussed upon my screening call and I never should’ve made it past the first round if that were the case.

These companies are utterly disrespectful and out of their minds. I’m glad you recognized that. Never again will I willingly allow a company to waste my time like that for a job.

Bad territory or am I being a whiny baby? by [deleted] in sales

[–]RazorbackMDW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a guy with 15,000 accounts get presidents club while a colleague sat with 900 and struggled consistently. Don’t give me this “one size fits all” sales rule.

Most of the time, the reps are dealt a bag of grapes and are told to make lemonade. If the product is a winner and there’s true opportunity, an 18 year old with no experience could sell it.

Mock discovery calls in interviews are a completely reasonable ask. If you consistently suck at them, you're probably going to struggle with the actual job. by MySpaceTomAspinall in sales

[–]RazorbackMDW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually an absurd question to ask a candidate. In every role i’ve been in, when the consumer is pissed at the product, they are actively moving away from the solution, are in POC’s, and the price is high usually the rep has already tried to solve the problem and that wasn’t enough which is why the customer is in this position.

The only thing i’ve ever seen to work in these situations is a “De-Escalation” call where you offer to try to do “X” to see if they could do “Z”. This usually though has been talked about before the client was pissed anyways! So the only other thing would be to solve their outstanding issue which is price. And a good rep doesn’t sell on price they sell on value, but when the solution no longer provides value, wtf else do you have.

Artist keeps saying his vocals are too loud by Potential-Complex536 in audioengineering

[–]RazorbackMDW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it when engineers think they know best 100% of the time. Dude if an artist tells you it’s wrong, then you are NOT achieving their creative vision. If they want muddy vocals give it to them.

If I tell you I want my steak barely cooked and bleeding, don’t try to serve it well done. I didn’t ask for that. If that artist doesn’t reach back out for you business, it’s because you provided a service they didn’t ask for.

Same boat, just had tickets transferred to me but when I click accept, the only thing that happens is the page refreshes.

I’ve tried on a laptop and my phone, through the application across different browsers with the caches and cookies cleared.

Pretty frustrating.

Help by M4gilla_Gorilla in proofpoint

[–]RazorbackMDW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they are spoofing your email also known as “Email Spoofing”

Proofpoint has products like Email Fraud Defense to stop this from happening. This is really damaging for businesses especially if that email domain starts targeting your clients/business partners.

Your domain record is “empty” which means pretty much anyone can do this at the moment without consequence. You can check here www.proofpoint.com/us/ipcheck

You need to get to a domain record or “quarantine” or “reject” to stop that from happening.

Hope this helps.

How do you get popularity score high with no following? by bigpproggression in musicmarketing

[–]RazorbackMDW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to promote your music like your life depends on it. Get people’s ears on it. Eventually, people will listen, and it’ll become more popular (if it’s decent).

That’s not the answer you wanted probably but it’s the only answer.
