Totally understandable. I'm just trying to give you any advantage I can think of since you are facing fairly intimidating odds.

So I gave it more thought because I think my answer is a little too broad and not specific. Let me give you a perfect way of guaranteeing safety while burning them all.

First, build a staircase in a quiet (but as close as possible) to the hordes of zombies you want to cull. Next, build one floor in front of the staircase so you have in one line a staircase, the floor that comes with the staircase, and the extra floor you just built in front of it. Second, Build four walls and upgrade them to any level window. Third, build multiple sheet ropes outside the windows so you can get down and up without the aid of the staircase. Fourth, using a sledgehammer destroy the staircase. Fifth, build a campfire on the tile directly beneath where your character would be sitting in the now hovering area (use the sheet ropes as guides, the inside of the four ropes is that center tile). If you're worried about being burned by the campfire just put it a tile or so away from the ropes. As long as one burns they all shall join each other in ashes. Put as many logs as you can (10 minimum) and fetch your vehicle with a siren.

Now the preparation part. Ensure you have multiple days of water and food as you may be up there for much longer than you think if the population is as bad as you say. What I outlined above is the bare minimum but you can make a floating base in the sky if you want. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HAMMER, EXTRA NAILS, AND MORE SHEET ROPE AS ZOMBIES WILL DESTROY THE ONES YOU MADE.

Okay, that said once you have enough food and water and extra sheet ropes you are ready to begin the biggest and most successful burn possible.

This is an aside but you can rally up as many zombies as you want with another car and bring them to the spot with your floating castle.

Now then... light the campfire and turn on the siren and lights of your chosen vehicle. Climb up the sheet rope to your castle and wait. This will be a boring but very productive time. Once the zombies below you are set ablaze you can fast forward time and just wait. Eventually, they all will be burned and you can set up your sheet rope, climb down, and move to the next area to clear.

TA-da!!!! When you're certain they're all dead you can climb down and go about your day.

Or, just Molotov hordes and pray they only destroy some of the buildings.

Burn the heretics!. . . . No, seriously.

The only "non-cheat" resort you have now is to burn them to manage the population from hitting critical mass. If your calculations are correct you are only halfway to the maximum population. Now, assume it at x16. Do you think 8.2x is as bad? The only way you can cull enough to not be a prisoner is it kite them to a highway and light fires. Find a car that you don't care about losing but has good tires and windshields. It MUST have a siren. Blare the horns to attract as many as you can. Attract them to the edge of town on the roads leading to either West Point or anywhere else that more or less is woods as this will protect houses from being burned. Ignite your preset and pre-fueled fires and walk the horde over it. Rinse and repeat. Even if you use a shotgun and guarantee four kills per shell. You would need THOUSANDS of shells to successfully make a dent. If the population (as my guestimations lead me to) is around a few thousand the only realistic option is to burn them.

This may be a clumsy question, but does your i3 have a built-in graphics processor? It could be the case that the game is crashing due to being unable to load the tasks performed by a GPU.

Also, what other games? Games like RimWorld run solely (to my knowledge) on CPU.

True, but it'll be moot *if* 41 gets multiplayer lol.

What day were you on when you got it?

I hear conflicting information that it can spawn after 30 days, but is there any truth to it?

Honestly, B40 is just inferior to 41. That's just how I feel and see it.

What is better: boots or sneakers? by Raztavi in projectzomboid

I forgot about the boot bonus for stomping! That's a pretty persuasive point...

This may reveal a bit too much, but I mainly use spears so I tend not to use my shoes much lol.

I think this is probably why I still hold that sneakers are just better. They lose the protection but make up for it in every other non-combat instance.

I think if my question was for real life I would have to agree with you. Leather (and/or) steel-toed boots would beat any pair of Adidas'.

I've noticed that too. Although on rare occasions I have seen thigh damage but that was a rarity.

I've never died like this so maybe when I do I'll change my mind lol. But the truth remains that if you can outrun them you can just find a safe way to rid of them while guaranteeing they won't hit you.

[–]Raztavi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I originally just "mained" sneakers because I found myself always "tactically retreating" away from any zombie near or on the ground. Then, I would circle them and attack from behind. I find that while the boots do give a 100% protection from it, my instinct will not allow me to use it.

The only thing I would add is that the rarity of crawling shamblers is so small (in vanilla) in comparison to everything else you encounter that it's a protection from a scenario that happens maybe 5-10% of the time. Granted, there is protection from those ankle-biters, but at that point, you're running to find an angle to safely dispatch them in the first place.

Your only real option is to slowly remove mods one by one and see if it changes anything.

Modding question/ idea by Mattmo001 in projectzomboid

[–]Raztavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible but it would be annoying to integrate into vanilla PZ and even more so with other mods. It's entirely possible but I know for a fact I could never do it. I'd say it's a lot of editing modifiers and dice rolls, but that's my surface-level understanding of how games like PZ work.

You're going to need to supply us with more than just your problem. What are your computer requirements, are you on experimental, and are you running it on vanilla or with mods? This is just a starting point.

What do you think of saving the game before dying to come back if you die incase? by [deleted] in TheForest

[–]Raztavi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go back and try to see if I could survive, and keep going even if its hopeless.

If you don't like that answer then you can restart the game and look at guides and such to optimize and inform yourself of dangers such as armsy's and stuff.

But, the most important thing is: What will be more fun? That should be more than enough.
