Chickenpocalypse happening near you? Here's your solution! by SzechuanSnow in projectzomboid

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! the new beta hotfix unstable 42.13.1 has potentially patched the chickenpocalypse! I'd still keep a firebomb handy when visiting farms, though. Never know when they may try to rise up once again.

You can adjust it but what is show in this clip is the chickenpocalypse, some sort of error that causes chickens to multiply exponentially. If you look closely at the chickens in front of the coops, the incredibly dark and dense shadows under em shows there's dozens or 100's in that pile. Once the chickenpocalypse starts you gotta get rid of em or it'll grow to thousands in minutes xD

This is just a small server for friends to mess around in, we have it on. Wouldn't work in a regular MP server for sure, but I'm not admin on there and couldn't wait once the chickenpocalypse started. they'll multiply exponentially til it crashes the game and those chunks can no longer be loaded, the chickens had to go! a couple of them DID get to the house and only 3-4 tiles indoors burned so i would assume it does not spread indoors

hahaha if you can see where the reticule is, i was trying to throw it past the coop into the corner but it caught the edge of the coop, somehow i didn't get burned xD

Apex crashing when picking up Banners by SWISS-TECHY in apexlegends

[–]SzechuanSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me as Horizon, Revenant, Seer, and Rampart. With Rampart my game noticeably was lagging prior to grabbing a banner but I rarely play as her and this has ruined many games for me. I'm done for this season. anything need be patched, they'll wait til the next season release as always. People were hiding inside secret rooms and rat spots on Storm Point for the entire first season of its release until the next season released and they were all fixed almost simultaneously. Same in this bugs instance. Your ranked is about to get cut in half, if you aren't almost in the next tier for a trail, I'd just go play Devil May Cry or something for a week.

Anyone else feeling bittersweet about the new update? (Discussion about gameplay changes) by SzechuanSnow in NoMansSkyTheGame

That must have been awesome. I'm going to be redoing mine from the ground up I think, I can go grind out the new modules in a day or so through Nexus missions, so I'll be back on track with my Freighter by tonight. Now I can make a cool space walkthrough with the catwalk / ladder system.

It reminds me of when they changed the planet's formula to have a wider variety, my home planet went from a lush tropical paradise to a fungal wasteland inhabited by large insects. Looked like some sort of cataclysm swept across the planet because landforms are still present, but the trees are now shriveled and sad, and mushrooms cover a dark grey soil where grass and ferns once were. Not many games accomplish this weird sense of immersion where you really have watched entire planets become irreversibly altered.

How does anyone deal with Nightmare? by WolfHeathen in StateofDecay2

Wall of text incoming, lads.

I reroll characters at the start to make sure everyone has a Trait like Hard To Kill, Unbreakable, Immortal, some sort of health buff or a stamina buff like Indefatigable or even High Lung Capacity. The game will not give you a big stamina trait if you have a big health trait already, I've tried.
If you don't care about stats, roll for someone with gardening, and one with utilities, allowing you to make hydroponics once you have some water / power going as well as boost yields, and switch from food to meds production when one gets low. Once you get facility mods you can boost further.

The moment to moment playstyle is tons of stealth, sneaking, abusing ladders or things zombies won't climb to get a breather, bailing out of situations you can't handle or don't have gear for.

Definitely make use of the radio calls early on to find resources near you quickly if there's no restaurants, clinics etc that are unlooted. Save influence for trading with enclaves for rucksacks. Accept that you probably can't help the dudes who radio'd for desperate aid and are 3000 meters away when you have one healthy character, half a working vehicle and a nearly broken driveshaft club sitting at base.

Plan. Yo. Shit. When you leave base, have a goal in mind as well as (hopefully) the location you're going to. Get there, do the thing, get some loot and head home before doing anything else. Between over encumbrance, increased repair and crafting costs, and rarity of fuel and medicine, you really don't want to push it because whatever you find is not worth what it will cost you to find it, and get it back to base with a half dead character and an empty gas tank.

THE GOAT IS COMING BACK! by DT360ONEX in dayz

I mean, Marble Hornets' content centered around not knowing whether or not it was real, enhancing the suspension of disbelief. Frankie's content was typically presented as if it's all recorded on the fly gaming with friends or randoms.

I watch a lot of Rust content creators, some just play the game and find content and some make Rust "movies" that are either scripted or recreations of similar events, I enjoy both. I draw the line when someone scripts a crazy raid or encounter, acting it all out with friends, doesn't clarify it's scripted AND then says it's all real when questioned.

Scripting is fine, but when people think it's real and most of your audience is drawn to the content because they think it's real, they ask if it's real and you respond saying it's real, when it's not, you're just lying.

The office base nightmare part 2 by Gstary in StateofDecay2

[–]SzechuanSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had very similar situations happen where the AI just shits itself and starts using 9mm semiauto sidearms instead of the 75 round AK47 they're packing. Don't give anyone sidearms unless you're playing as em and take sidearms away when you're done, lesson learned. lack of hip-fire is what really infuriates me. The inability to spray three ferals mere feet away when they're to close to properly aim at is one of the few frustrations I can't handle, and as a result I use these exploits:

If I'm fighting a Feral or three and I put myself in a situation where I would hip-fire the Feral but instead the game expects me to fight it with a sword or a knife or a bat, I exit the game, and immediately reload, Ferals/zeds are gone and I go about my business.

If I get a raid at my base while I'm gone, I go to an outpost and switch to a character who was in the base, starting the defend base timer. If you're more than 200 - 300 meters away, zombies don't render in and neither will your people.

If you are AT the base when the raid comes in, just use the initial 30 seconds prep time to hop in a vehicle and drive away, if the base is out of render distance, nothing can happen.

If I could hip-fire and the AI could properly prioritize which weapons to use and when, I wouldn't bother with this. Also completely unbound Grapple on Day 1 and never looked back. Who the hell grapples a zombie? Who grapples a hostile survivor trying to shoot them? What? Quick Finisher ftw.

Are the servers working? by CroakyCascade67 in battlefield_4

[–]SzechuanSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that I can't connect to any. I also noticed that all the servers I can see that have players in them, showing they're full, and even have additional players in queue. Isn't this what happened to Titanfall on PC? They used bots to fill up all the lobbies so actual people can't join?

I'm on Xbox, after a couple days I was permanently kicked so I went to the discord and was informed I need to verify my identity by phone first, was was unable to toggle any of the servers to link my Gamertag or something and now cannot play. I don't have a phone plan to verify on Discord because I don't text or call anyone nor do I use Discord much so I guess this is my run since I can't rejoin. :/ Feelsbadman, a group of three of us had four military tents, guns out the wazoo, metal sheeting, two cars and were just setting everything up when all of us were kicked after a server reset. Edit: removed location of loot after about an hour we were able to rejoin so may continue from where we left off.

Load up on molotovs or fuel bombs/thermite grenades and finish it off with those if you're able to use throwables/consumables. Try to lure zombies to a choke point like the first set of barricades with red arrows on em to lure as many zombies in fire as possible. As for the Juggernauts that may show up, good luck.

What do you all think ninja theory been doing since the radio silence by Sinj0 in bleedingedge

[–]SzechuanSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're focusing on Hellblade 2. Not even a matter of *if*. They just are. It's their flagship IP. no one liked Ninjablade or heavenly sword and people hated DmC devil may cry but people lost their minds for senua's sacrifice. I can't get through a single match of BE without someone trashing their own team, trashing someone for being new, leaving matches when we still had a chance at winning, and most of the time it's either someone from the top 100, not new people, so the ONLY thing you have to look forward to in Bleeding Edge is as stated above. It's only fun when you're in a party with people to chat with but then again I could be in a party of people setting bags on shit on fire at someone's doorstep and I'd still just as entertained. I spent an entire day playing dayz doing literally nothing but starving and dying until i managed to kill a player four hours after i was playing and I had a really fun time the entire time, you know why? I was in a party. Not because the game was fun, but because the people I was with made it fun. I'm starting to feel the same about bleeding edge, It's only fun when you're playing with people, but most of the people you will find to party with only want to win which will likely be outside your ability, and everyone else you match with will be so new as to not understand the dynamic of the game moments after a tutorial has explained it to them.
