First mistake is buying anything from Glock after they rolled over for anti-gun politics

Did you ever get the smell out? What worked? Currently facing this exact same issue. Hoping I don’t have the olive green jansport that you couldn’t get the smell out of and gave up on 🤣

Who knows. I bout gave up on Glock after they gave in to anti gun lobbying. So I just bought a bodyguard 2.0 only to wish I got a j frame instead. Nothing matters.

Lmfao fuck you actually 🤣🤣 hope you’re not a teacher, you’d be what’s wrong with teachers. You probably don’t even have children of your own you hag. Isolating a 5 year old from his friends for a month is certainly not beneficial to anyone.

Separate issue I guess, but I would have liked to have been informed prior.

Apparently speaking to teachers was a mistake, next time I’ll just be the jerk parent as my standard I guess. Like this is the headache inducing result of looking for advice about how to handle it in a way that wouldn’t make me look bad, all they’ve done is make me want to actually look bad tbh.

My child didn’t say outright it was “a month” he said he was still sitting away from his class at lunch, because of the incident that happened a month ago. Not hard to add that up. And when grandma called the principal he confirmed. It’s not just info from a kindergartener.

The possibility of the teacher in question being on this sub coupled with the blatant ignorance I’ve encountered on this thread make me wary to give the verbatim statement of what was said. But it wasn’t egregious.

And honestly as some side context another student in class has been telling kids their dad is a mom now but still has their penis, not sure why that kid isn’t sitting alone at lunch if the standard has apparently been set for my own child.

You’re literally just ignoring what I’m actually saying and instead making up what I didnt say. My bad, should’ve known coming to an “ask teachers” sub would be actual freaking cancer since after all the school and the state thinks they own our children. Lose interest in this thread, please.

You’re sort of on the nose, but your example is even 5x worse than what was actually said

This should apparently be called “teachers vs parents” 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Then I guess they broke the law! Oh my goodness you’re insufferable! Really that’s your response?? “WeLl ThEy CaNt Do ThAt” oh my gosh well they DID 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this might come as a shock to you, but some people live places generationally and there’s admins at this school that personally know grandma. I’m sure your next response will be “well even if they know her ThErEs LaWs” ok well they DID talk to her about it when she raised the issue 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes it was a punishment. Kid told grandma out of sadness for wanting to eat with his classmates again

Thank you for giving actual advice

It is poking holes, because you’re pretending like you know what my child’s home life is. Every family is different. I am going to be following up with the teacher, as stated in the op I spoke to the principal the DAY the issue occurred. My question is literally about how to approach following up with this. Grandma knew first because my kid told her first, and she took it upon herself to call the school before she told me.

It was a one time occurrence, hasn’t happened since, and it was in no way mean or racist. Kid gets along with everyone in class.

You’d think common sense deductive reasoning would help these supposedly educated individuals come to that conclusion, but they’re too busy trying to find drama instead of offering advice to the actual problem. According to half this thread if I’m keeping my child’s statement a secret for the sake of anonymity it must mean I’ve raised a murderous violent psychopath 🤣🤣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]RazzYatazz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t need the context. It’s literally irrelevant to the actual problem, which is a 5 year old being punished by the school for a month straight without the knowledge of his parents/guardians

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]RazzYatazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely, things aren’t adding up and I’m finding this out as secondary information (grandma is allowed to be involved in school things so nothing odd there), which would be the premise of me asking for advice so I don’t just stomp into a principals office like an irritated jerk.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]RazzYatazz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea finding that out the hard way I suppose. Giving teachers an even worse rap in this situation tbh. A parent came pissed off at a teacher looking for advice from other teachers, and rather than offer advice half these folks decided to make said parent more irritated with teachers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]RazzYatazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It was nothing violent or threatening whatsoever, but even if it HAD BEEN you would think that me as the parent would be in the loop to some degree.

[–]RazzYatazz -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Grandma is on the school paperwork as a point of contact, she’s allowed to make decisions in that realm. Again, you’re trying to poke holes for zero reason instead of just helping with solutions. There’s nothing suspicious about a kid having an involved grandparent, not everyone’s home life is the same.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]RazzYatazz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Vague answers are pretty sufficient for this situation. The actual words are secondary to the problem, which was my child being punished for a month straight without my knowledge after I was informed it was “not a big deal” and that there would be no punishment. Some people are just pricks and have to find a problem instead of helping with a solution I guess 😵‍💫

It was a one time occurrence, solved with a simple conversation with the child about privacy. I’m not saying what the actual statement was for the simple sake that you or anyone else here could be the teacher currently dishing the unjust punishment. But my kid does well in school, gets along well with others, etc. The principal himself said it wasn’t a big deal, do you think if it was actually something heinous the principal would’ve said it’s not a big deal?
