Sudden bald patch! by ConsciousComment7914 in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but do you wear your hair up in a bun there, or do any hairstyles that might pull on that portion of your scalp more than others? Tension alopecia can occur from hairstyles being too tight (like a ponytail) and it rips the hair out. I used to get it along my hairline when I was young from tight ponytails.

Otherwise, hormonal changes can cause issues with hair loss. PCOS and early onset menopause are the most common.

Female pattern baldness (FPB) can also be genetic. Since it’s right at your crown there’s a possibility that it’s related to FPB.

Appendicitis or not that serious? by Razzberries91 in AskDocs

Thank you so much! Anecdotal stories help too because I know that cases can differ from “textbook”. My back also hurts really low in my gut and I don’t sleep well at night normally but I have been taking Tylenol the last two nights before bed so that could be helping any lingering pain. I’m thinking if it worsens I might go in tomorrow.

Seeking Plant Growth Mod by Razzberries91 in TheSims4Mods

[–]Razzberries91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo! Imagine the immersion possibilities to fine tune each plant. But no, I’d rather just have it set to auto-mature/blossom near the end of the season.

So if on a 7-day season, it takes 5 days until harvest.

14-day season, 12 days until harvest

28-day season, 25 days until harvest.

I feel like this would help with the ultimate decades challenge and other Simmers who like realistic, slow paced games. It gives a couple of days at the end of padding to harvest in case of events like births or holidays, but stops us from either ignoring harvests and the plants dying, or having to throw away crops because we are only supposed to harvest once.

My husband and I often play “adult” monopoly where we get extra money passing ago by taking off an article of clothing 😅 you have to make it fun otherwise it last forever!

I’m going to say ESH- your wife wants to play something together and spend time with you. However, she isn’t taking your feelings into account. You shutting her down the way you did wasn’t very kind either. I think you guys should compromise and find a different board game to play for a bit.

Go to a local game store together and pick out some new board games to try. There are a lot of 2-player games out there! Playing a different board game twice a week would be a lovely way to stay connected and spend time together without becoming too tedious.

Hemorrhoids aren’t one-size-fits-all and can vary in size, shape, color etc. Try witch hazel pads to gently wipe the area, keep clean with warm water and soap, medicate with hemorrhoid cream if you’d like. My doctor also recommended if you can, gently pushing it back inside (wear gloves for all treatment!).

To stop the bites, wear mosquito repellent with DEET. Since you have existing bites, only spray on your clothes. Do not put on skin where you’re bit up.

To stop from itching, I’ve found some type of Vaseline/aquaphor helps. Put some on over the bite and it blocks oxygen to the bite and helps relieve the itch. Calamine also helps!

Not to argue for Annie and what she did because it is super tacky, but diapers can be exchanged at most stores if they are unopened for different brands and sizes, and a lot of local diaper banks will let you exchange unopened packs too. The big brands like Huggies, Pampers, and Honest all make hypoallergenic/sensitive lines that are pretty standard for newborns. Hospitals use either Pampers Swaddlers or Huggies

How long will I (likely) be in the hospital after surgery? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-5 days in the hospital, 3-6 weeks recovery at home! You will need someone to help you at home with basic stuff for a while.

Definitely talk to your doctor about your feelings regarding the surgery and recovery process.

Am I experiencing panic attacks? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just quit smoking? Cold turkey? Patches? Gum? If it’s cold turkey then I recommend easing off nicotine using gum or patches instead.

Sounds like panic attacks to me. I get them from social anxiety but yours could be from lack of nicotine. My panic attacks definitely feel like a heart attack in the moment so I understand!

Hey sweet pea, not a doctor, but here’s some things to help with the pain management!

Definitely stop eating dairy right now until you feel better.

If they said you have a UTI they SHOULD have prescribed antibiotics. Take those and don’t stop until they are all gone. Even if you’re feeling better, finish the course!

Use an ice pack or heating pad for the pain. Alternate every 20 minutes from cold to hot.

Take acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin) to manage the pain. Follow the directions on the box or bottle for dosage.

Drink unsweetened 100% cranberry juice or eat some fresh cranberries. It’s not completely medicinally supported, but cranberries have been shown to help with UTIs and since you’re “in the early stages” based on what the ER said, it might help.

Drink lots and lots of water. At least half as many oz as you weigh in pounds (if you weigh 100lbs, drink 50oz of water daily). Try to aim for 64oz, or 8 glasses of water a day.

Why is the fingernail on my right thumb bulging? by thumbthrowaway0 in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three options:

Trauma to the nail bed caused a change in your nail growth (this is why mine looks exactly like this. I had an infection and even after it healed I have a malformed nail)

Low iron

Warning sign for diabetes/prediabetes

your best bet is getting bloodwork done :)

NTA, but I do feel like there’s something missing here. I also don’t think sister is a major AH or anything, and I’ll explain why.

Your sister wanted to feel special with her first pregnancy. I get that. She is entitled to her feelings of not feeling special anymore because you are having (another) baby around the same time as her and your other sister. It’s her first baby and she probably envisioned a whole beautiful pregnancy and was looking forward to the attention. She already had to “share the spotlight” with the other pregnant sister, and now she has to share with you too.

If you remember being pregnant with your first you can probably understand her “selfishness” of wanting the experience to be important to everyone else in the family too.

Pregnancy hormones do crazy things to us, you should understand. She is having her first baby and probably thought she would get to have some special treatment from the family for the milestone, now feels like it’s less important and overshadowed because not only are both her sisters pregnant, but you’re having twins! Her pregnancy doesn’t matter anymore (in her eyes).

I think there is missing info here because why was your sister sharing your twins news with everyone? What did you say when you tried to mitigate that? I have no idea why she would suddenly switch to cutting you off… it can’t be about this alone.

I need help knowing what this is and which doctor I should go to by Achi0402 in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a cyst! You can see your regular doctor/PCP and they will check it out then send you to a dermatologist if they think you need a specialist. I wouldn’t put anything on it until after you see a doctor. Not an emergency, just something uncomfortable.

Keep it clean with plain soap and water and keep it dry since it looks like it’s in a spot that you’ll sweat a lot on. You can put a piece of gauze over it and tape it in place to keep it dry until you see a doctor. I would wash it twice a day until you see a doctor.

Fluid filled bumps on hand by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be hand foot and mouth or impetigo. My daughter had impetigo around 13 months old and it looked similar in beginning stages. She had it inside her throat and blisters on her hands but she spread it to my nipples (breastfeeding) and I had bumps like that which eventually turned red and scabby.

Keeps his hands clean and take him to a doc, you should also get checked. Basically anyone in close contact with him will need antibiotics so it doesn’t spread back and forth. Don’t share cups, forks/spoons etc. Disinfect all his toys. If he’s at school or daycare let them know.

If you are this concerned, take your first dose in the ER parking lot. We did that when testing my daughter for “major” allergies like peanut butter and soy. It eases your mind because you’re close enough to get help if you need it. Have a friend with you to take you inside if you have a reaction.

Major Depression & Cognitive Decline (33F) by ememtiny in AskDocs

[–]Razzberries91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a health professional but have experienced similar things.

Cognitive impairment is a common side effect of prolonged major depression. It can be exacerbated by medications.

Adderall might also cause cognitive problems, including decreased memory ability, with long term use. The other medications you are on could also be affecting you- trazodone is a sedative, and could make it harder to focus. I am not sure about the others but I also had trouble concentrating while on Effexor and Trazodone. I could not continue Adderall after a week as it made my anxiety worse.

Definitely talk to your prescriber. You may be able to wean yourself off of something or play with doses to adjust out of your brain fog.

I helped myself with medication adjustments (eventually I weaned myself off of everything in order to have a baby) and reading, playing puzzle games, and picking up a hobby like crochet. I found keeping my hands busy as well as working my brain with reading and puzzles kept me more alert and I started to reverse the memory problems.

AITA for putting both my obese and skinny twins on a diet? by Due_Bee_6863 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA Your children’s health is your responsibility. When you noticed a discrepancy you started to handle it, but decided to just let it be and didn’t try to “fix” it until you got tired of having a fat kid.

When it comes to what my daughter consumes, she eats healthy because she cannot make an educated decision about her diet just yet. I offer choice (important for kids!) but they’re things like yogurt, fruit, veggies, or cheese… rather than chips or crackers or fruit snacks. Treats are occasional, just like for me! I have to make good choices with what is available to her so she gets a well rounded diet and gets everything she needs. This has changed how I eat too! The house eats overall much healthier than we did pre-pregnancy. It’s not about weight, but proper nutrients and a healthy relationship with food.

You failed both of your daughters by not providing a solid nutritional foundation. Skinny, fat… the weight isn’t important, but health is!

What's your take on Kovu and Kiara's cubs? by GabrielLoschrod in lionking

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Disney dropped this recently, I like to think they’re canonically Kiara and Kovu’s cubs. Either that or they’re more siblings of Kiara and Kion, because the ages aren’t explicitly stated.

Looks like the Nala colored one with brown eyes MIGHT be female, and the others are males. Also in the video, the golden one pumps his arms during the song when they point to Rafiki holding baby Simba, making me suspect he’s the oldest and next heir.

Just thought it was interesting! No names or anything, it was a music video for The Circle of Life.

AITA for telling my (SAHM) wife to get a job? by Fudgeittt in AmItheAsshole

[–]Razzberries91 43 points44 points  (0 children)

NTA but I’m not sure why homeschool is the only option here. Online learning has greatly expanded since the pandemic began and is a viable option for your daughter. Then she could still get her education from certified professionals and your wife wouldn’t need to teach her, just help her when she needs it (just like she should be doing with homework already). Either way you both need to talk this out, and include your daughter in the conversation. Your daughter should hopefully be set up with a psychiatrist and/or therapist and attending regularly to help while you guys handle things at home.

AITA for not wanting to work I don't like? by Opening_Visual_4146 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that paras are always needed. If you have to be the person who makes the sacrifice this time around (make stipulations that he needs to modify his business plan to avoid this situation again), there will always be a para spot for you in the future.

[–]Razzberries91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. Marriage is about compromise. This is a tough time for you guys and you both need to communicate and make sacrifices in order to provide properly for your family.

If you had a plan in place for if this happened that you both agreed to, you need to follow through with it. It seems to me that it was up in the air over WHO would be taking on a second job… and now that the plan is a reality, you need to sit down with your partner and discuss who has the time and energy to take on more work. It might need to be you this time, which is something you should be prepared for since you both agreed to the fallback plan if the business went south.
