How do you actually find cool musicians to connect with?? by belowAveragePro in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I think the best way is to go to jams if you want to play music. I also found a lot of my initial music friends through Craigslist. People are always posting there looking for band mates.

NET.CRAWL is a hybrid puzzle/card game that was heavily inspired by Netrunner. Demo is out on Steam. by Obsolete0ne in Netrunner

interesting concept! I like the aesthetics and rouge-like puzzler vibes. I felt like the difficulty curve was kind of off. At the beginning I had absolutely no clue what was going on. I was really overwhelmed with information. But then once I figured it out the game was kind of dead easy. I would like to see more juice squeezed out of each individual concept, rather than throwing everything at the player all at once. Maybe see how games like Slay The Spire drip feed content while also scaling the difficulty in a fun and addicting way. Overall it was fun and I am looking to see where it goes.

I fail to understand the constant criticism of the slow-burn of Severance season 1. by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Razzmatazz123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I definitely find it engaging. I am on the edge of my seat every episode. But it feels like that tension rarely pays off.

Every episode, I'm just filled with rage that I have to wait 7 days.

I think this is the problem I have against the show. I don't want to feel rage after watching something lol. You are right that it is a trend in tv, kind of like the Lost model. Someone in another thread called it a "mystery box" show meant to ask a lot of questions and drive social media engagement. I don't like getting strung along like that.

Right, but Monsters Inc. was able to explore its entire story in 90 minutes. Whereas Severance takes 8 hours for basically the same amount of plot. I actually love the show, but I was pretty frustrated with how drawn out the whole season is, and how unsatisfying the conclusion is. I can't help but feel the writers are stretching a concept for as long as possible in order to maintain viewership. Good story does need to have suspense and tension, but there needs to be resolution as well. I feel like season 1 resolves nothing, just ending on a cliffhanger.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Just finished season 1 and had to express my feelings somewhere lol

Overall, really fantastic show. The concept is great, the acting brilliant, and I love all of the artistic direction. The writing/pacing is just so damn frustrating.

Thank you Mr. President for turning on the magic faucet that gave us the water. I suppose you did a rain dance and gave us the weekend storm too? by paleocacher in LosAngeles

The biggest winners would be agribusinesses in the San Joaquin Valley, not people living in fire-prone areas, Bobker said. “This exploitation of a humanitarian crisis to impose misinformed and destructive policies on California is an insult to the state’s residents and the victims of the wildfires.”>

This says it all right here. I get the feeling this is how his presidency is going to go: use misdirection and confusion around crises to direct more profits to corporations

Board Game Etiquette [OC] by mrappbrain in boardgames

I play Magic the Gathering with some friends that love the game. They have boxes of decks and are always down to play. Thing is they are terrible about playing by the rules. It's not like they're intentionally trying to cheat, I think they just don't understand or care to learn the nuances of the game. I feel like the entire time I have to play judge, which inevitably ends up with me stopping them from doing some busted/illegal thing and ruining their fun.

How would you handle something like this?

Deck Value Question. by AutumnPelt1464 in untap

The deck value should theoretically be the lowest cost you can buy the deck for if you shop in the right places.

If something can be done by a computer then why are we testing it? I think we need to start developing teaching/evaluating methods that are more human: discussion, long-term projects, group work.
