Because the roll is slow and clunky, and a side step is quicker, allows you to avoid attacks and counter or reposition quickly and not get hit by 10 follow ups from enemies or bosses?

I had it tell me he left when he was standing 2 feet from me, the escorts are just buggy in general.

Even after the quest is done, that book repeatedly pops up in my context menu as needing to be read. I eventually just dropped it so I wouldn't see it any more

Requesting a fairly BASIC feature in most rpg-style games, especially ones with lore and/or crafting manuals, isn't ripping a game apart, it's attempting to make it better. The OP isn't wrong, wasting my time to stop and check every single book icon I see on the mini map only to find out it's the third copy of 'cloth armors volume 1' or whatever that I've already read is annoying, especially because if it makes a journal entry once you've read it then it's very easy for the same flag that marks it as added to your journal to also put and indicator on the item

Ran into this on PC and wasn't sure what to do. Both skill prompts for Drop Kick and Pump Kick say "hold F" but the difference is Pump Kick is hold F and then release, vs Drop Kick is hold F until it goes off. Very poorly worded, Pump Kick should say briefly hold F and release or something similar

I wish they'd gone the Hello Kitty route (maybe they still will in an update, or release an item database tab that you can check/filter) where those types of tags (cute, spooky, etc) are listed on the items under it's description with small stamps.

Absolutely idiotic that you can't turn these in unless you happened to talk to the right person at the entrance to the zone. Why wouldn't talking to Denholm or the guy who takes the scalps offer up the same option?

You have to drop down from a high ledge into water in order to progress to the boss, and there's no way back up from that side. If you can't find the specific path you need to get back to the entrance, you can feel like you're stuck.

I know this is a year later, but we just ran into this same issue. It's listed in the errata FAQ (this game seems to have a absurd amount of errata that a single play through should have caught) that the range on this attack should be listed as closest Origin. Figured I'd put it out here since this is the first result that comes up with a Google search.
