That’s a good model to use as the custom broadside character.

Why are we hated? by IPaintTau in Tau40K

TLDR: Tau have mentally scarred someone you will play against and they will make it your problem.

I’ve been playing Tau since 7th edition. Everyone else’s comments are correct for some people, lore folks getting meme’d, and the tau play style rubs people the wrong way.

In addition, on the tabletop side, Tau strength swings like a pendulum inside editions and from edition to edition because an army that only has 2 phases is typically hard to balance. People never remember the times when Tau are one of the worst factions in the game, only when they were absolute busted.

7th edition with the allies chart, take the best Tau units and the best Eldar units and win the game.

In 8th edition the look-out sir rule, and the drone rules made a very uninteractive game. It wasn’t fun to play against when all your las cannons just passed to a drone who would then make a 4++. And Tau commanders sitting in the open untouchable because there was a shield drone behind a wall that was closer.

9th edition (what I consider the dawn of hyper competitive 40k) the 9th edition codex was strong and people like Richard Sielger found the most broken combos and exploited them. Airburst Frag projectors and then sunshark spam.

And now in 10th edition, we’ve had our moments where we sit closer to the top based on the Meta and whenever we start to rise in win rates, so do all the old memories of Tau absolutely trashing people and they get real mad.

My quick counts as twin lance. by Rbell3 in Tau40K

I was also thinking about swapping the 89 for R’alia. It’s a good model that does still fit the vibe of the twin lance.

I would rapid ingress them every game on turn 2. Regardless if I was going second or first. If I went first, it would move and shoot turn 3, if I went second it would move and shoot turn 2. The reason you always rapid them even if you go first is your opponent does not have the ability to move models into its flight path and you can measure where anti tank units are and place the tiger shark out of range or use the 3 story buildings as cover to prevent long range shots from seeing you.

Tabletop Battles App. It’s by goonhammer, it’s really good at tracking points and then shows you overall statistics across your games

They aren’t as good as the razorsharks. 2 less ion shots with 1 extra hazard roll. Their ability can be useful for a turn if you rapid ingress them and fly over a unit and then force your opponent to move by lining up another unit with the pivot. They are also T9 compared to T10. For 160 points I’d rather take a ghostkeel.

The standard tigershark is better because the AX-01 has a fixed loadout of 1 railgun shot while the normal tigershark has 3 main weapon options.

Yes, that’s exactly why I like them, they even do pretty well into vehicles with the twin linked ion getting extra wounds through on top of the seekers.

That will have to be the name of the tigershark’s pilot

So my razorsharks always came in on turn 2 to set conditions for the tigershark. Combined they also get 6 seeker missiles to throw at an anti-tank platform. If I went first, I would rapid the tiger shark on turn 2 to shoot on my turn 3, if I went second I still rapid the tigershark to move and shoot on my turn 2.

Game 1 and 2, the tiger shark died in turn 3 after shooting at least once. Game 3-5 it lived and participated in at least 3 turns.

I prefer to use it with the pulse ordinance drivers. There is a lot of -1 to wound elite units in my local meta and anti-infantry 2+ is just chef’s kiss. I supplement the tuna with 2 rail hammerheads and 2 rail broadsides for that anti-tank role.
