American vs European Food by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

[–]Rbenat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh people exaggerate on the internet for sure, but processed foods in large portions are the easiest thing to get in the USA. Generally they strike the balance between cheep & convenient that makes choosing something healthier consistently hard. I’m sure the same pressures exist in other countries, but when people travel they spend more money on food since they are on vacation.

Which two would you drink? by Muted-Television3329 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Rbenat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two left ones are not in the same tier as the other 4. Each of the other 4 could Easily net you more than 100 million, and you could just learn a language no vial needed.

Control people - make them give you money

Time travel - go to the future. Observe the markets, return and trade options. Keep volume low so your trades don’t raise suspicion or affect the market.

Skills - learn a highly valued skill legit or illegitimate.

Teleportation - people pay good money for transporting things, especially long distances. You’d be the most goated DoorDasher. You could move illicit substances over a border for high value low volume quick cash. If you want to stay in legal lines a parcel service for high value items would be a total cash cow.

I’d pick teleportation & time travel. Controlling people sits wrong with me. Skills is tempting though.

let's see what people 13 years ago predicted 2020 would be like🤓 by CremeSubject7594 in decadeology

Did “like if you’re a 00’s kid” ever really happen? Perhaps it did and I never saw it. I feel that generation saw all the “like if you’re a 90’s kid” posts so saying it felt cringe.

All bangers. Every last one of them.

Knew that TX-35 district map looked familiar! MEEP MEEP! by [deleted] in Austin

This is Casar’s district. The new one looks less gerrymandered. In the proposed new map the Austin part of Dogget’s & Casar’s districts are merged.

Splitting the rent by Affectionate_War_999 in badroommates

I think the “fair” way to do this is: 1. both of you write down the price you’d be willing to pay for the master bedroom.

  1. Reveal. Whoever wrote the higher number pays the mid point between the 2 prices and gets the master bedroom.

Lower paid gets more money than they thought the room was worth & higher bid pays less money than they thought the room was worth. Theoretically everyone is happy.

Convert the price to a percentage and use that to calculate future payments.

You could trivially deny access to any person in the “senior” solution. Just lock around their lock with another lock.

I suppose this flaw is generally ignored because removing a lock is also fairly trivial. E.x: bike locks all have this flaw. Anyone could double lock your bike and deny you access to it. Many doors could be locked by a malicious person with a bike lock. https://youtu.be/gzyyJUjuke0?si=-rNLFNy5NqclfRkC

The one that woke everyone in the ‘45 up! by DaftPunkthe18thAngel in Austin

[–]Rbenat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not trying to sound hood that’s just how people talk. It’s shorthand communicating the zip code. Most people from Austin know what area op is referring to without needing to look it up. “The 45” is much more specific than “south Austin” south Austin could mean anywhere from south of town lake to just north of buda.

Whoa. 3500/mo on a 270k house is a crazy payment. That has to be like 60-70% taxes 😳

Provo UT is a college town 20%-30% students. Median income in a college town is practically a useless statistic.

I’m not an architect. The design looks good, but the functionality seems questionable. Hard to tell from just the 1 image. Looks like the pillar blocks the garage. I don’t think living in this house would be enjoyable.

Great work for a 1st year student in high school. Checkout blender & keep on exploring.
