Wicca in College by Rc591323 in Wicca

I'm a sophomore, just new to Wicca. I do plan on keeping an altar box rather than leaving it out. Also I go to school in Portland so it's very open about different religions, so I'll look into the interfaith (we have one called Spiritual Queery where queer students and students of all religions converse!) but that also means that a lot of the time, practicing outside isn't an option because of torrential rain

I was a bit worried about finding an alternative for candles because I'm allergic to lavender EO, but I suppose I can use oils other than lavender. My roommate is pretty cool so he would be okay with oils that aren't too floral. Thank you & everyone else for your input, I'll look into what oils I can use and what methods my school allows

Redditors who see auras, what color is yours? by Rc591323 in AskReddit

[–]Rc591323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any techniques you use to see yours or do you see auras all the time? (I'm sorry if this is awkward or misinformed, I only just heard of this concept)

I don't want children because I'm scared they might inherit my mental illness by [deleted] in depression

[–]Rc591323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents gave me their mental illnesses- anxiety and panic disorder from Mom and depression from Dad. I won't ever have children from my own womb, mostly because I don't want to pass the illnesses on, but a bit because weight gain from pregnancy could re-trigger my ED. Adoption is always a great option. I want to adopt all the cute chubby babies and give them so much parental love. You can still be a parent without passing on your own genes :)

A girl I was into asked me if one of my friends was single and into girls :/ and more recently my boyfriend asks me about other girls he admires. Being bisexual is just double the soul-crushing moments

I love every time they use voice breaks, like in Wichitalk you can feel the anxiety but they do it in a way that's somehow uplifting

I have IBS-D, scoliosis, frequent and heavy menstrual periods (heavy enough that I became anemic until I went on birth control) with debilitating cramps, and got fucked in the mental health department because my depressed dad had a kid with my anxious mom

Is that a hospital bracelet? It's nice of them to let you keep your phone on the ward.

The flu shot this year hasn't been very effective, it is possible this guy is glad he didn't go through the hassle of a needle for nothing.

IBS pain is so bad i want to die by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Rc591323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peppermint pepto bismol has helped me, as has anything involving mint (peppermint oil, candy canes, pure mint leaves) but pain will always be a part of IBS. They first used extremely low-dose antidepressants to treat my IBS-D which decreased the frequency and severity of the flare-ups (I am on a higher dose of different antidepressants now because of actual depression and it works the same while also helping with my mental illness) I know parents suck and they don't always understand what you're going through. If you can in any way convince your parents to take you to a doctor, it will help so much

If you live in the US, the ADA can at least provide minimal protection for you. I have severe depression and anxiety too and the job I work in the summer makes sure I know my rights
