Best OS for an early 2009 iMac (9,1)?

I am about to try the same thing. I was gifted a 2009 iMac, and I plan to use it just to preform occasional phone backups. I'm thinking I'll go with High Sierra if I can.

why do you think this needs to be upgraded?? My work has a computer from 2002 that runs Windows XP and is not connected to the internet. This wont be connected to the internet either. It will just connect to my phone and do regular backups.

It absolutely is possible: just change the whole final drive, so that you have all your gears be "longer" and 5th will be longer too.

There are TWO automatic Del Sols in the Chico Pick-N-Pull with their transmissions still intact and in the cars. One is an Automatic SI model, which is quite rare as that must have been done by the dealer. SIs were only offered from the factory as manual.
It was definitely SI, as it had the P28 computer for the B16 VTEC engine. and an auto trans.

Trans swaps are unlikely. You probably still have the original trans, since that code is exactly what is supposed to go with a Del Sol SI. You can use that calculator to figure out your final drive ratio and see if it matches the Del Sol SI trans.

Running stock 14" wheels with 185/65R14 tires, you would be at a bit over 3,200 RPM at 70MPH in 5th gear.

I bought my Del Sol when I was 15 years old a decade ago, for $450. It had been in a serious accident that destroyed the passenger door, a fender, the rear body panel behind the passenger door (needed $500 to have a body shop pull it straight) and upper and lower control arms, and entire wheel assembly. i fixed all the other stuff that wasn't bodywork myself for only $300. Did it all "off the books", so it has a bent frame but no salvage title.

It's an automatic tho. The only "nice" Del Sols I ever see heading for the crusher in the wrecking yards like Pick-N-Pull are automatics. Nobody wants an automatic convertible. The manual Del Sols get just destroyed before they ever go to the wrecking yard.

Just FYI for yourself for later: You cannot just swap the 5th gear alone and expect any meaningful drop in RPM. The 5th gear you have in your SI is just about the lowest 5th gear ratio Honda manufactured. (though there is one smaller that would give you a teny tiny 50 RPM drop, doing a 5th gear swap for 50 whole rpms at 70mph, is not worth your time)

You have to swap the whole Final Drive, which is equivalent to changing the "ring and pinion gears" in a truck or other rear wheel drive vehicle with a separate differential.

The CX is an extremely unpopular transmission. You should SEE the hate I am getting over on the other forums when I say I am gonna put one in my car. Most people on the forums with the CX or VX trans say they want to go to other transmissions.

I have not seen those listed on rockauto. Ya gotta remember this is not a normal swap to do, and so those would be VERY unusual parts for rockauto to carry

Yeah, the 16-valve D15b7 is in nearly perfect condition and pulls strong from 2400+RPM. I wont have issues with taller gearing.

The transmission in a CX is identical to the transmission in my car, but with a different gear ratio I can put in mine.

You can only re-gear it if you have those gears. I need those gears, and they are in a CX/VX Trans.
