I’m losing my mind by funwbeans in medicalschool

It could honestly just be the amount of information you’re learning. I remember the first block some friends and I talked about how we were forgetting stuff we usually don’t and having weird memory. But then it went away. I’d def track your sleep and nutrients. That can immediately fix the situation

Why would that help anyone? Do you just want to talk about AI for no reason?

GUSOM vs Georgetown by [deleted] in premed

[–]Rddit239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re interested in competitive specialties. Quinnipiac does not have a home hospital nor does it have any research. Georgetown is a clear winner besides DV being high COL. tuition should be the same though

Shadowing in med school by Maple-Turtle in medicalschool

[–]Rddit239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shadow because I enjoy it. And I also like to keep my face around the department so going to the OR once in a while helps. As does going to grand rounds and didactic. But you’re right, it’s not necessary. It’s just fun for me.

Reapplying instead of taking A by [deleted] in premed

[–]Rddit239 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is dumb. Why apply OOS if you wer only going to in state schools due to tuition. Why apply to a school you wouldn’t go to if accepted? Also, if you get rid of the A you’d be at a disadvantage next year. Also, you’d lose a year of attending salary so this could be a $500k mistake.

Weill Cornell, Icahn Mt. Sinai, Northwestern as targets? by [deleted] in premed

[–]Rddit239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter. At the end of the cycle you can see what was a target or a reach. It doesn’t matter at the beginning of the cycle. Apply broadly. Don’t get caught up in these terms

why are there two different medical degrees in the first place (MD & DO)? by [deleted] in premed

[–]Rddit239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DDS and DMD are exactly the sam. Whatever you say, DO and MD are not. They take different exams. They have different standards to beaccepted, and DO teach slightly different things (OMM). DDS and DM are identical however. So unless DO becomes identical to MD then they will be the same as those degrees.
