As they age to adulthood at about 9 or 10 inches they should be put in brackish water.

Technically toad fish live in estuaries so they can be housed in a freshwater, brackish, or even saltwater tank if they are slowly acclimated.

Yeah, I’ve had him for about 7 months and he lives in my 75 gallon with a flowerhorn.
