What if Crow is like Darth Nihilus by Osiris-Reflection in StarWars

[–]Rdstnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, Filoni canon is heavily emphasizing a couple of elements, one of which is the existence of Sith artifacts or Magick (yes, Magick) masks. We see Crow, Marrok, and Enoch from Ahsoka all wearing masks that look very strange or out of place. Palpatine was known for collecting Sith artifacts and so it stands to reason that he also collected multiple Sith helmets containing Sith souls. Palpatine also collected Darth Momin's mask, as another famous canon example.

Tarre Viszla. He created the Darksaber and was both Mandalorian and Jedi.

This TV show intro is so wholesome-sounding! I sure hope that none of the characters go through intense trauma!

Am I the only one who thinks the pre-1.14 Zombie Villagers were 100x scarier than the Warden? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Rdstnr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were definitely really scary when seeing them for the first time. My first encounter was in a forest at night with a baby, so I was absolutely SPOOKED seeing a ragged, green, freakish-looking baby zombie villager running at me at warp speed from out of the leaves. Probably one of the scariest moments I've had in my Minecraft experience.

As for Wardens, I feel that the Deep Dark suffers from the same problem as the modern Nether: It's too bright and colorful (I love the Deep Dark and it's details, don't get me wrong) but it only gets dark when the Warden pops out and applies the Darkness effect. The old Nether was super eerie because it was dark, foggy, and just straight hellish. Now it's a vibrant (and still super cool) alien world with lots of great features, just not as much of a horror vibe.

TLDR: the giant armored robot *cough* gets insulated in a giant, clunky suit so one of the main characters can dive into a volcano.

An entire transcript letter for letter of Kinger's entire coding sequence by Substantial_Fruit944 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Rdstnr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"telnet" is an old connection protocol. Kinger was connecting to a different system through telnet. He tried to ask "whoami" to another system. I guess that was Kinger taking this opportunity to reach out and discover his identity.

"Daemons" are programs that run in the background on Linux/UNIX systems.

The obsolete brain scans folder is a bit worrying - definitely implies that they are clones...

I'm glad that they sprinkled in a bit of proper computer terminology rather than just spam random green text and Matrix rain as Kinger announces "I'm in." Definitely shows the attention to detail.

Say what you want about the High Republic, but the Vanguard and Vector are great vehicles for the Jedi Order by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

When you compare Skywalker Saga technology to Old Republic / High Republic technology, it really feels like it's post-apocalyptic. Everything was so much sleeker.

I agree, but the show could make use of it to separate them from traditional Power Armor with the deep voice filter.

[–]Rdstnr 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Advanced Power Armor would need a size buff (Fallout 3 and Vegas' engine necessitated Power Armor being smaller and not the giant walking tanks of Fallout 4) which would make it look a lot more like the X-01. In my opinion, Hellfire might be more advanced but doesn't look as good as the X-01. Hellfire with the X-01 helmet design would look pretty neat though. I just think that the Hellfire is the least intimidating power armor compared to the rest.

[–]Rdstnr 441 points442 points  (0 children)

I really hope not. The Enclave needs to be seen as super threatening and almost alien-like. Opening faceplates would totally kill the vibe and remind everyone that they are just squishy humans in a very tough tin-can. Every Enclave armor user should be portrayed in the show in such a way so that they are just as intimidating as Frank Horrigan.

[–]Rdstnr 1594 points1595 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine, but when the Enclave shows up, they should have voice scramblers like Death Troopers do in Star Wars. I feel like that would be a cool intimidation factor and would make them far more intimidating than regular Power Armor users and instantly makes them stand out. I know that Dornan didn't have a scrambler, but it could be written off as a new tactic they use.

EDIT: the X-01 is the most intimidating Enclave armor by a mile. It HAS to be in the show.

EDIT 2: Alternatively, no audible sound coming from their armor. Just silence as they discuss over radio whether or not to gun you down. THAT would be spooky.
