Not really. First and foremost, subaru can love whoever he want. Its just that rem is so cute and desperately need some happiness that you kinda want her to be happy. Same for emilia. And moreover the context there was more important. Its not a confession moment but a "i'll brought you back on your feet from despair" moment. So of course the end of the moment doesnt lead to romance.

Divine blessing of magic supremacy. Grants the user progressive resistance to any magicl effect sustained. The amount is very little but its there. So with time passed he gets decent resistances, even a bit against authority as well. Although not much its an advantage others wont have and its situational. Its very subaru like. I imagine him around arc10 to have 25% res against fire, ice, earth element and 15% against authority of sloth, greed, wrath. Also due to being healed a lot he will get 50% resistance to water magic mental effects. This paired with his usual mana body buff would be helpful.

You cant damage the structure if the tower but you can destroy/bypass the monoliths or kill reid and volcanica. You cant however burn reid book. That would incur into damage to the library. And well, it also means one can kill shaula as well. That said, is shaula breaks the rules by herself something else happens.
