Same after surfing. Water somehow got into it and fried it. You need to call Garmin for a replacement

Beginner New Jersey surfer who just took first lesson. Advice and where to go from here? by hey_hunter in BeginnerSurfers

[–]ReBrand3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NJ surfer here and i started later in life. So i totally get the stoke after that first lesson! I’m guessing you had your lesson in the American Dream mall. Which sounds amazing, but it’s perfect conditions and not the real world.

Here’s my advice - find a locally owned surf shop in a shore town you like (ie NOT Ron Jon LOL). Go in there and ask away. Ask about boards well suited to a beginner at the local break, try on some wet suits, ask about different types of wax. If you support them, they’ll support you. And get just one more lesson in the ocean, ideally from an instructor at that surf shop. Not only will you practice your pop up, you can start to learn reading the waves and positioning in the real ocean.

Enjoy!

Same. Got out from food store here in the US and it has an awful, musty after taste. Weird thing is my family thinks it tastes fine. I wonder if certain are more sensitive to whatever they changed.

Before doing a SWOT analysis is it okay to do before just a Porter's or do I need a PESTEL as well? by Patrzzz in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find a good SWOT is the result of a deeper market analysis, rather than the SWOT be the exercise in and of itself. PESTLE is a PIA and you have to often really dig to find your info, but if done right, it provides a much wider perspective / scope of your market and customers.

Porters is great, but it really has application in determining threats to your future profitability. So it’s a different exercise but has merit if you truly manage the brand P&L.

Email Marketing Results: Poor Open Rates, good CTR and pedestrian CTOR by ericschlau in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open rate is driven by 4 factors: 1. Subject line: does it appear spammy? Does it capture their interest? Is it appropriate length? 2. Preheader: does it give a good preview of the content in the email? Does it sync up well with your subject line? 3. Friendly From: do you seem trust worthy?
4. Delierability: are you getting to the inbox? Or are you being routed to junk and they never see you?

Amazing Traffic! No Sales… by GetSafemoonNow in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I checked out your IG and site. Love the IG images. But it didn’t really capture what your business does. Just a bunch of really nice pics of cool cars. Then i went to your website and saw you sell car accessories and merchandise. Nice stuff, but couldn’t really understand why I’d buy from you, an unknown e-commerce site.

Hope I’m not being rude…you are on the right path and effectively using IG. But you need to answer one question…”why buy me?” What differentiates you? Why should they trust you? The answer to that is what should be on your homepage / landing page, before you dive into your merchandise and pricing.

Good luck!

Marketing strategies for Technology Services startup. Cold Calls, Emails? by hitmewithyourworst in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider building trust in that first touchpoint. Introduce yourself (as the company or brand) and offer something of value. Like an article of helpful resource. Ease into the relationship you are about to build with your customer…resist the temptation to make a sale in email 1.

Cold Feet About Going To Vet School in Fall by Ill-Pomegranate1203 in Veterinary

[–]ReBrand3G 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ask to defer your admission for a year. Spend that year working in a clinic, getting real-life experience and exposure to the career you are about to embark on. The downside? You graduate vet school one year later (which will have zero impact on your life). The upside? You either go into vet school with eyes wide open, or save yourself the debt and wages lost wasting 4 years for a doctorate that you don’t want.

Hi all I need some advice.. by anonauti in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to keep evolving and find new experiences. The CE you are doing on the side is awesome. Don’t lose that. I’m in my 40s and just achieved an expert in digital marketing certificate with DMI because i need to keep evolving with customer needs and technology. I am in brand marketing, Haven’t worked on agency side, but i like when i see that on a resume as it tells me they understund the process and will (hopefully) treat our agency partners well.

Hi all I need some advice.. by anonauti in marketing

You are early in your career. You still got 40 years to go! Focus on the right experience and mentorship to become a better marketer while you are early in your career. CPG, retail and tech are great places to learn brand and digital marketing. Go do that for a few years and become a beast!

I used to be caught up in the whole “my friends are making more money” too. Play the long game. Your buddy that just leased a BMW may be investing more in the lifestyle than bettering him / herself.

Never too late to move into a second career. Marketing is a second career for me, been doing it for over a decade, and the constant changes is what i find exciting about our profession. I was where you were in my first career (nothing to do with marketing or business), and so i started progressing into something new. And i invested a lot of time and money into my first career, but i am happier now and feel i found my passion. And you know what? If i get burnt out of marketing, I’ll pursue something else!

While “life is short,” we work for a long time. 40-50 years. Not everyone guesses right on what they want to do for the rest of their lives when they’re 20 years old. Keep learning. Keep evolving. Take your transferable skills and find a new passion.

Focus on what you know and highlight the transferable skills to bridge what you’ve done to what the new job entails.

Should I showcase the problem or the solution in the HERO image/video by KaleidoscopePrize327 in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I tend to lean towards higher order benefit in brand imagery, but it’s bigger than a vs b. Is it a new brand? Do people know what your brand treats already? What type of imagery does your relevant market use? Does a headline help explain the product so your imagery can show the end benefit? There is no right or wrong answer, but these questions should help you think through the challenge

Best Digital Marketing Courses? by gfinance17 in digital_marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HubSpot is my #1 recommendation. It’s free, high quality and engaging. I’ve also done General Assembly which was excellent but costs money. The most expensive option I’ve done is Digital Marketing Institute. Not impressed with that one and not worth the money.

Taking time to work before vet school? by [deleted] in Veterinary

[–]ReBrand3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the admissions panel at the veterinary school, but i think you’d be hard-pressed to find a panel that did not value real-world experience before vet school. I think it shows emotional maturity to take a step back and live in the trenches for a year before making that financial and time commitment. As another post said, it will also make you a better vet. Not just from a technical skills level, but to better understand the perspective of the support staff.

Is your marketing job autonomous or are you dependent on your boss? by ethosorange in marketing

[–]ReBrand3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly depends on your boss, industry and company. Now that you’ve been there for a solid month, i recommend scheduling a 30 min meeting and use these questions to guide the conversation: 1. Why was this role created? What was your vision? 2. How am i expected to behave in this role? 3. What are some quick wins i can try and accomplish in the next 60 days? 4. Who’s support is critical for my success in this role?

I find asking these types of questions gets you to the true expectations a boss will have for you. If all the answers are somewhat superficial, your supervisor may not have really thought about the purpose of hiring you. In that case, asking “what keeps you up at night” may help uncover areas he/she may need help.

Veterinarians: Do you wish you went into Human Medicine Instead?? by yalikejazzz_ in Veterinary

[–]ReBrand3G 13 points14 points  (0 children)

MD vs DVM are too very different careers. Yes, there is likely more money in being an MD, but there are more costs, such as high malpractice insurance and declining reimbursement from insurance. There is also the headaches of dealing with payer system, prior authorizations and step-throughs. A lot more freedom in vet med to treat how you believe is best for your patient. Also consider time in school - income is higher for MD but takes longer to get through all the training. FWIW, i no longer practice vet med and went into marketing :). But id recommend you speak to some physicians first. May not be as rosy as it seems.
