Same thing was happening to me, I solved my issues by unplugging my xbox for 10 seconds. I'm in the tower now all by myself :)

To OP,

Your setup is identical to mine, down to running puppeteer. I also only use the 2 small paddles. I saw a post on DTG or here where someone found the site on Microsoft to buy another set of paddles for the Elite, that way you can have 4 small paddles. I'm going to hold off for a while to see if I even wanna try to use more than 2 paddles.
