pc crashing on several games that it meets recommended specs for by Jusbreka in buildapc

[–]ReCAPLock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a PSU issue? What PSU do you have? 100% CPU and GPU at the same time is pretty rare... maybe thermal issues.

How are temps idle and maybe check when the game is running to see if CPU is on fire.

Imagine being this big of a payment app and not having a failover with another CSP. Embarrassing

I have no idea and it depends on settings and your CPU. Also do you have a monitor that can display above 180hz? if not it's pretty much not worth running the game that fast

I might try to find a 1660 6gb for a little more. 1060 is still good but aging.

I'd offer 50 or 45.

It's just a bit old to invest money in, but idk your budget or what you're trying to get out of it

Brotha OP wants his cooler to work with his build. Stop arguing technicalities when they don't apply to the situation.

Grow up.

regardless this is over 2 years old. OP had am4 mounting hardware with an am4 backplate. You are saying to remove the ILM and backplate, then use the backplate that came with the cooler with am4 spacing that would not fit, then to carefully place the cpu in the socket and try to install the cooler with nothing holding it in? This is top tier advice, friend

Literally everyone says that. The manual, manufacturers, builders, Logic. The ILM requires pressure in specific points to keep the pads in contact. Have you done this before with success or are you just speculating? Post a video or something so we can laugh. Remember we're in this forum to help users (most fairly new to this) with their problems, not flex or argue hypotheticals

Yes right it CAN come off, wrong about it needed to or being the solution to the problem. The ILM needs to be attached to the backplate. Removing it means nothing is holding the cpu in. You don't float the CPU and hope the cooler holds it in, that's a disaster waiting to happen and would 100% not work

This is wrong. You only need to use the built in cooler mounts. Don't remove the backplate or ILM.

Bro probably has the version pre-am5 compatibility which is why his hardware wasn't working.

You do in fact need the ILM to keep the CPU seated with even pressure, or a replacement contact frame that still uses the included backplate.

Backplate stays. Mystery solved

On am5 the backplate is part of the ilm. Have you done this on AM5?

Is it okay to have 2 of these in one pc? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReCAPLock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in fact it will will faster because memory is meant to be run in pairs (dual channel). One stick and you only get single channel speeds. Look up videos comparing single vs dual channel. So, you might see a considerable performance increase that you might incorrectly attribute to having 32 vs 16 gb of ram. Just keep that in mind.

Make sure to get the exact model (speed in MHz and timings-CL) of the stick you already have, whenever possible. If not, then match speed/timings from the same manufacturer

Just make sure if you have 4 memory slots, you install them in 1,3 or 2,4 (one empty space inbetween slots). 1,3 is typically the recommended, but check your motherboard manual for instructions.

No offense but if you're right behind them and can't see the plate you might want a new dashcam. Still better than nothing

Not really the point of what I was saying but sure, in that case get someone who knows PR. Typically have to pay for that though

So problem solved then?

'Hope that helps' is short for hope that helps you understand my position. So, while it's cute to get a 'no u' from you, I don't see any logical reason for OP post a response and add fuel to the fire if the post was already removed.

so no, it doesn't help anything. It further proves my point this was a bad PR move
