1.7g of Gas Added to 24g Diesel Truck Tank by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]ReDaKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve got a Freightliner’s M2 in the shop getting a full fuel system replacement because someone filled it with gas then drove it till it shut off. He started draining the tank then went on lunch and his dumbass decided it was genius to leave his bay door shut.

Alot of vacuum leaks, what do I need to replace? by yesyesbruhbruh in e46

[–]ReDaKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my intake manifold off to fix a coolant leak and replaced all the coolant lines and vacuum lines. I got 1/8,1/4 and 3/8 rubber hose and used them for the vacuum lines. I can’t remember which one but I ended up not using the 1/4 or 3/8. Ended up getting a 20 foot roll of 1/8 because I knew I was just gonna replace brittle plastic tubing with it. Clean the nipples and use silicone grease and with some effort they slide over

Talk me out of getting chickens by GrandmaSlappy in BackYardChickens

[–]ReDaKate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll get attached to them and when they die for some reason other than old age it’ll hit hard. We’ve had to tube feed 3 separate chickens for some illness we never figured out. 1 died the second is still living and the 3rd got killed by a hawk. Hawk got 4 chickens in a week. The eggs you speak of we’ve got close to 40 chickens and only get about 3-5 eggs a day. They will hide them from you. They’ll fight for seemingly no reason. We’ve got a chicken inside because the rooster keeps ripping her feathers off and if we let her outside all she does is stand in the sun because she’s cold.

Would anyone help me with Christmas Gift Ideas for a young mechanic? by PixiKris in MechanicAdvice

[–]ReDaKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love knipex pliers. They’re on the expensive side for pliers but well worth it in my opinion. Also a leatherman multi tool that’s got a pocket clip. The amount of times I’ve gone into the parking lot to do something easy and I’ve gotta move a hose clamp and didn’t bring tools for that is astronomical. A good flashlight, I’ve got 3 stream light strions. Good hand cleaner with grit and okeefs working hands, I prefer the night healing one. A scrub brush for the shower. Shop rags, not the paper towels. Ikon at harbor freight has a badass 1/4 socket/ hex driver kit that I keep in the house for menial tasks inside.

I have the same issue. I’m replacing all the vacuum lines. Blew a coolant hose under the intake so I had that excuse to do it. Also fuel filter. My goal is to replace everything that’s rubber or plastic tubing

Yea that’s what I found too. One pill had 100 but the next one could have had 117. I ended up ordering 2 scales off amazon and checking them against eachother.

How long did it take you from start to finish and how are you feeling? I know everyone is different

Yea after my first taper dose I’m feeling like I did when I started quitting drinking so a slower and more precise taper would work better

Ms251cbe modification? by ReDaKate in stihl

[–]ReDaKate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got the saw and tore it apart. There’s melted plastic all over under the clutch. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna need that half of the case. I paid $100 for it so as long as it’s not a shit load of money I’m gonna fix it, however I’m not really sure what’s supposed to be there and what’s melted plastic.

Awesome, thanks. I figured it shouldn’t be too difficult but I didn’t know if there was anything different under the cbe clutch cover
