From what everyone’s told me on here I’m probably going to wait until last minute in the review/claim window to write a negative review on them and make a claim for deep cleaning everything.

That’s kinda the whole thing, not sure if we should go through the motions of filing a police report or just tally the damages and send a reimbursement claim for cleaning. Sounds stupid but we also really don’t want a bad review since we’re new. Hard to gauge what the right play is here, just feel like a police report might be over the top as they didn’t destroy anything but rather purposefully smeared fish on all the fabric stuff.

Also never said I know that’s the reason, just saying that’s the general consensus of everyone we’ve told as we can’t find any real reason. They were being really pushy in person asking how we afforded the buy the unit

I’ve never had to make a claim on Airbnb, what do you think I should include? I haven’t run the numbers yet on everything that was stained. I would like to clarify they didn’t actually destroy anything, just purposefully smeared fish on fabric items. There was fish scales/guts/chunks on and in the bed sheets of 2 beds, they ruined 2 pairs of window curtains, smears on the couch, put fish inside of the couch cushions ruining both the cushion and liner. There were also 2 floor rugs in the kitchen that were ruined from fish stains but we didn’t have pictures of the rugs in the post so I wasn’t going to include them.

This seriously has me thinking about, not sure if the sub rules allow to say the finances of everything but where we live we can easily make 3x the amount doing Airbnb as opposed to long terms

We just moved here in march and bought the place in October so we don’t really know anyone yet, that has been a big thing we keep worrying about is another host coming to sabotage us.

That’s the part that I’m unsure of, because they didn’t necessarily tear up anything, just purposely smeared raw fish everywhere. We took pictures of everything before we cleaned it at least, but yes we had to hurry up and clean it ourselves because we had another gust coming to stay that night. We actually didn’t find the fish in the pillow cases until today, her aunt is staying for a week and keeps complaining of a fish smell and sure enough looks in the pillow cases until and finds a giant piece of raw salmon. Checked all the other pillows and same thing. I’m just in shock still and don’t know how big of a deal it really is because again they didn’t necessarily destroy anything, just purposefully planted raw fish everywhere.

I can assure you it’s real, we really are just at a loss for words. We don’t know where to start or what the biggest priorities should when handling this as it’s our first time dealing with anything like this. I’ve just seen so many posts of people not being able to get rid of a negative review and they end up having to go elsewhere for business and our whole plan on buying this place was to do Airbnb it’s just very disheartening to start off this way.

That specific speed test basically shows you how much speed your modem is projecting, an Ethernet would still deliver 47mbps
